This is the painting - The Feast of Gods, it’s with Dionysus not Jesus

Who is saying this is the correct inspiration?

Anyone with a brain. Dionysus is up front and center in blue at the Olympics interpretation. There are more than 13 people at the table. The (big) lady with the halo matches this one.

France TV even tweeted that it was The Last Supper. They’ve recently deleted it. But it was screenshotted and is making the rounds on X now.

So all that means is their broadcasters are as dumb as many Americans. Okay...

Also, Barbara Butch - large and in Christ’s place in the middle - posted a shot of their setup at the table on her instagram with the caption “Oh yes! Oh yes! The Gay Testament!” Is there anything they won’t make all about them?

^ I guess a participant in this farce is also “dumb as Anericans”…

So far, the artistic explanation is simply that an emphasis on inclusivity and diversity was the aim. No popular agreement on whether it was achieved, which, well, is often the effect of art.

Maybe they deleted it because it was wrong and they didn’t want, you know, incorrect information circulating and whipping fragile right wing American dipshits who liken Trump to Christ into a frenzy?

What has any actual church governing body said about it? Has the Vatican denounced it?

Spare me your selective concern about sacrilege. We have seen the Trump as Jesus iconagraphy.

We saw characters escaping their famous paintings in the art galleries of Paris. Why do people think that they escaped from an Italian fresco in Milan?

It’s hilarious how desperately these loons are clinging to their outrage.

Go ahead, boycott the Olympics. No one cares.

No, it means they aren't twisting themselves into a pretzel trying to defend the "artistic expression" that viewers saw or create an unbelievable fairytale to try to explain it.

There are so many historical inaccuracies with Leonardo's version of the Last Supper. If religious people are concerned, perhaps they should be protesting in Milan and demanding corrections.

Maybe they're trying to take attention away from couches.

Note the halo and Dionysus front and center. Note the number of people. Are you REALLY sticking to "it's the last supper?"

So only American christians are outraged by the depiction of Feast of the gods?

NBC should have had more culturally aware announcers for the opening ceremony. Kelly and Peyton were so out of their depth, they offered no explanation about what was happening. It seems BBC announcers did a great job with this.
