Is this a joke? They might be one of the worst 2010 teams in the DMV. They couldn't win ncsl division 8 (yes I know it doesn't exist).

"Why did you post this 4 times? You seem a little off. Are you mad your kid was on the 5th team and never got moved up despite your "advocating"?"""

Tell me what you don't agree with, why you don't agree with my comment and I'm happy to defend my position. We can add value to the conversation and I'm happy to let go of some pride. Just looking out for the parents here given my personal experience. Do you have anything valuable to add?

I know nothing of Valor but have to concur that the tryouts we saw were very poorly run compared with the others we have experienced.

When we registered, they asked what team our kid was currently playing for (the answer was none as we had just moved here from overseas, where he played on a strong team). Upon arrival, they had lists of which kids were to go to which field or part of the field. I was told the top team was over practicing by themselves. My child was sent to what i guess was the peasant field since we did not list a current club team in his registration. The coaches did not pay attention to that field at all. After the first tryout, we did not return. Still, we received an email offer for the 4th out of 5 teams. He was offered 1st or 2nd team at several other orgs and those tryouts involved moving kids around, timing their running, doing drills, mixing the kids up, and there were several coaches/adults observing, taking notes, etc. They did not immediately divide the kids up based on their current team and then ignore the kids they put on the lowest field.

Had a similar tryout experience as previous poster. Blessing in disguise as we ended up in a much better spot but I was amazed at getting that 3rd team offer when none of the coaches even paid attention to the "peasant"
Lol group. The odd thing was they told the kids they had to attend at least two tryouts to get an offer but of course we only went to one.

Our neighbor has a kid with Scruggs and we were told the new coach has already been announced.

Our short time at Valor was a waste of time, money, and most crucially, opportunities for our players' development.. Our daughters coach was consistently unavailable for practices and cancelled more than often. Communication with the technical staff was frustrating as a parent and a group. We would either be ignored, given condescending responses, or a sales pitch from SB. Tryouts were exactly as previously described. We moved on quickly and found a much better environment.

Any idea who the new coach is? Taking over now or next fall?

Abdul is a decent coach. HP elite guy if i recall.

The U14 2010 coach is named HE. He is universally disliked and only got the job b/c the guy who was going to coach quit right when the season started. So he got moved up from coaching the second team. Parents were unhappy because they paid for a team coached by Coach Who Left and didn't want HE. Then someone filled in for awhile on the second team and they found the current 2nd team coach who was basically just an available warm body.

Typical, concur. I’m not crazy. Thank you.

I always found the comments or remarks the coaches made to be very broad without context. No concurrence on your request and just shelving all the issues. Thanks.

I would argue this is the perfect venue.
