Welcome! We are a rising PreK4 family at Cap City. There are a few playdates scheduled over the summer. Hopefully you can make it.

May I ask why?

Really like the Guides, staff and authenticity of program. Husband and I are Montessori kids.

Do you mind sharing why? I've heard of a few families going the other way.

Great news. Opens up a PreK4 slot. Thanks for this information hadn't seen movement on the SS WL.

The outdoor space is much better at West, particularly for PreK. West has a dedicated play space and playground equipment for PreK as well that is right outside their classroom door. West is also very close to us (a 2-minute drive).

If not for the location and outdoor space we would have totally stayed at SS though. It's a good school and I love the Montessori education. I'm going to try to keep up components of Montessori at home and we discussed with the West teachers the ways that they support independent/child-led learning in the classroom which made us feel more comfortable with it.

great thread. very interesting. I think you have to say "why" too though, since you'll be asked a post later anyway

I find the "why" posts to be particularly enlightening and helpful.

I'm sure many are for reasons such as the "grass is greener" or the use of the early grades until a family is matched with a better choice (WOTP or HRCS) other than their neighborhood school.
