Nothing about this needs to be "defended." It's going viral because he's a likable guy in the football world. Obviously not your thing.

He is who he is. He hasn't hurt anyone as far as I know. He hasn't hurled furniture off a 6th floor rooftop. He did't lie and cheat to get or keep his job. He hasn't abused women or children. I'm not aware that he's been arrested or otherwise accused of illegal or dangerous behavior. What do you want to see happen because you don't like him?

I’m not a drinker so I too wish he would tone down this kind of behavior. I find it crass but also am not naive enough to realize the event was all in fun and I am not the target population it was meant for and would appeal to. That said, knowing he has a propensity for this would make me a tad nervous at a serious event like an awards show or red carpet. Let’s hope he knows where to draw the line.

You have no idea what he’s gotten away with. Star athletes get away with crap from high school, college and into the pros. Colleges, the NFL, super agents, the team and jock-sniffing cops cover for criminal players all the time.
