Is "Breaking Bad" worth it?

I like gritty dramas but I am not in love with the pilot episode of Breaking Bad. However, I am desperate for a new Netflix binge.

Is it worth sticking it out a few more episodes?

For the record, I LOVED "Luther" and "Happy Valley"

The first two episodes were hard for my DH to get into. After that - totally hooked. He is now in mourning for the end of the series which he just finished at the end of May.

Walter White is fascinating to watch. You will get hooked.

Helps if you are a 50 something in a dead end job but most people will find the choices he makes fascinating.

I was the same way with the first couple episodes. Quit watching for awhile and kept hearing great things so I tried again and loved it.

It is an amazing show. And Heartbreaking. I sobbed in an episode. I was so emotionally distraught at the end of one of the seasons I wished I had never started watching. I finished, of course. But really effing wrenching.
