Gold, Jerry, gold!

My daughter is thankfully not a 28. Reading this thread makes my eyes bleed, but I seemingly can’t look away. You dolts are nutso.

This is a summer camp for the girls on Hero’s teams where they all spend time together swimming, playing games and interacting across the age groups. Capital would probably charge you $5k and make you tryout for this camp. Hero’s does it as part of their club dues.

Heros parent, can confirm this is true. Only players can attend.

Hero’s hosted a Prospect Clinic last year (as well as the one for the 24s) and an Advanced Lacrosse Clinic at Maryvale the year before which it advertised for “prospective 5th-8th graders.” Players attend these to get noticed. Nothing wrong with Hero’s doing it, nothing wrong with Capital doing it.

You are just doing web searches on Heros. You have no idea what goes on or who are on these events. Stop it. It's embarrassing.

It’s not. Hero’s branded and promoted “Prospect Clinics” and those advertised to attract “prospective 5th - 8th graders” make it very clear. PPs claimed Capital hosts scouting camps and Hero’s doesn’t. Yea, simple searches dispute it. Both clubs do it.

You want to hear how silly you sound?

My DD went to this event. It was mostly attended by Heros girls. Some girls from other clubs as well. Maryvale staff and players organized the event. Maryvale was trying to attract prospects to their lacrosse program.

Can’t wait for the excuses for the multiple prospect clinics.

Can’t wait until you get reprimanded by Capital like you were at Stars.

Can’t believe you haven’t used that melon of yours to gather by now that 1) I’m not a 28 parent and 2) there are multiple people posting here. PLEASE be better. Back to it - we haven’t heard an excuse yet for why Hero’s has put on multiple Prospect Clinics (as recently as last year) when the claim is that the club doesn’t stoop to this level. If you say it’s because these clinics are coaching gold mining, I’m inclined to believe you.

With all the horrible news from today, yes, I agree, you are a loser with all the time you’ve spent on this. /S/ Parent of multiple Capital players.

Ditto. Let it go. Can we get back to normal conversation and not fighting anymore. Tiresome.

As a Hero’s parent, I’m asking fellow club parents to stop engaging in this childish behavior. We should celebrate girls everywhere who play the game.

One of my earliest posts on this subject was along the lines of Capital is a great program, just tired of all the expenses associated with 6 pre-tryout clinics and the subtle vibe that you need to do HB sessions throughout the year which many do including myself. I am a Capital parent. This has been talked about amongst many of the parents. I don’t know what Hero’s does or does not do or any other clubs I just know that Capital ain’t cheap. From what I know from Hero’s parents I am friends with (yes, that actually exists) Hero’s is much cheaper and at HS does not have any pre-tryout clinics ir anything like it. The irony of all of this is that as one of the earliest posters on this subject, I was hoping to push back against onerous costs of club lax which we all know is out of control and was hoping to get Cap parents on board. Oh well.

No. Hero’s has clinics or something or a camp here or there or something or a swimming or bowling component so you have no idea what you are talking about. Or something. Local high school had a clinic. Or something on Hero’s Instagram page if which I spent my whole Saturday going through for a year which my daughter does not play which is an obvious lie.

Didn’t they play at MidAtlantic?

Maybe we could tone it down a little in here? Just a thought in light of current events.

I’m sorry, but what do current events have to do with DCUM? If you can’t handle the banter on here along with ‘current events’ maybe you should take a break from the forum.

People can go too far at times on here but I, for one, find this a total distraction to real world events.

It’s real simple sweetie. Don’t let yourself get distracted. Stay away from DCUM for your own sake.
