Out of curiosity, it seems like most Fox mill families wanted to stay at south lakes. The only schools that aren’t at Hughes are Fox Mill and a small portion of Floris. Wouldn’t that make things easier for your kids if they want to Hughes vs Carson? It’s the same student body as SLHS. |
Dp. I don't think that's true that most families at Fox Mill want to stay at South Lakes. |
Not true. I know Fox Mill families that have already opted in, to include rising 10th graders. |
That is NOT true. We wanted to stay at Oakton which was our pyramid high school before 2010, and having been there 15 years, we can move again and we want to move and take Crossfield with us, because we used to feed to Oakton with them. I miss doing Basketball with them too. |
Where did you get that idea? Yes there are *some* Fox Mill families who want to stay. But many more families want to move. Fox Mill parents are not as vocal as Crossfield parents but if Meren keeps ignoring us, she will not get our votes. |
| I highly doubt Oakton is the "only" middle school where all the kids don't go to the same high school. |

Meren cancelled her meeting with the FMES PTA while meeting with others. Then she sends an email saying that Western won’t open next year, to send a retraction. Then she sends an email that she wants FMES moved to Hughes, only to send out a retraction. Meren knows that most of FMES wants to move to Western and has not been happy that most of the families are calling her on her bad information and lack of listening to us.
Fox Mill has a lot of people who want the new HS. Meren is 100% ignoring that in favor of the people at SLHS worried about using Fox Mills test scores for SLHS. |
Right. https://www.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/pdf/SY2025-26MiddleSchoolBoundarieswithHighSchoolBoundaries.pdf Based on this map Carson split feeds to Oakton, South Lakes, and Westfield Franklin split feeds into Chantilly, Oakton, and Westfield Kilmer split feeds into Madison and Marshall Thoreau split feeds into Madison, Marshall, and Oakton. |
