Bad Breath Etiquette

It is really atrocious. Three feet away you can still smell it. Metallic rotten dumpster smell. Every time I see her.

I've offered gum and mints under the guise of my wanting some and she never takes it. Seriously you can watch people try to hide their visceral reaction when speaking to her.

For what it is worth she is always dressed and otherwise groomed immaculately.

I am way too nice/chicken and I'm about the only mom that will still talk to her, but I'm way too mortified to say anything.

She has to know right?

Who is this person? Co-worker? Parent of your child's friend? Is she someone you can just stay away from?

Send an anon email. Or, if there are no video cameras, print out a typed note and leave it on her chair.

I'm on two committees with her *and* our sons are in the same class. Same club and church as well.

I just feel bad if she doesn't realize or if it's from medication and it makes her feel bad. It seriously makes my eyes water and makes me queasy though. It really is that bad.

Could be bone disease. It's what happens when people don't floss. Very common and very smelly.

Tonsil stones. Leave a kind note for her. I have tonsil stones and would want someone to let me know. To the best of my knowledge I have mine under control

She could have rot going on in an old root canal tooth or under an old filling. Tell her.

I don't understand, if it's that bad how is it that no one has told her? How old is her son? Children are usually brutally honest and the first ones to point out things. Is she married?

She is married but I have only seen her husband a few times since I met her, so I couldn't tell you much about him. Her son is 9 she has older children as well. Everyone talks about her bad breath (horrible I know but it is what it is) but no one has told her to my knowledge. My daughter made a face and started crying saying "stinky mommy" when she was 4 after this lady bent down to speak to her, but I hushed her up quickly and played it off. So yes, maybe a child has told her, I do not know.

Well the poor thing probably has no idea and I think it would be a kindness to clue her in. Next time you notice it take her aside and *quietly* offer a mint "thought you should know that you really need one of these"

From your description I would venture to say she has no idea. Personally, I would be so thankful to the person who told me if I had the issue. Can you describe her overall personality?
