Getting pregnant to keep a man

Anonymous
I can't believe women actually do this!! One of my friends just started having unprotected sex with her long term boyfriend. He has been hesitant to go through a wedding with her but always talks about having children. So now they're having unprotected sex. Now she says she just wants a quickie ceremony after she's knocked up.

Anyone else has done this? Does it end well?

That doesn't guarantee anything, just look at "Teen Mom" on MTV.

My SIL did this to bag my BIL. It worked and they have what one could call a good marriage. She is just one of those people who gets what she wants, other people dammed.

My friend did it. She is happy, he is not. They have been married for a long time. He is never home.

Well at least your friend isn't trying to deceive him by claiming to be on birth control. But the whole things is just a bad scene.

I once knew someone (not a friend) who did this in her early 20s in an attempt to hook the married man she was sleeping with. It didn't work and she struggled as a single parent.

Had this happen to a friend of mine. They broke up... She ended up pregnant. Why he wouldn't use a condom was beyond me, but he claimed that she'd always been on the pill and had told him she still was.

ENded up married - I've never seen a happier brides side and more morose groom's. Weird.

Needless to say, a few years later they split. Probably for the same reasons they split the first time around. Just this time it was complicated by a child.

THEY are having unprotected sex. BOTH of them. Meaning, HE is just as responsible. Maybe their relationship, sex life and reproductive choices are none of your business.

Growing up in DC, I haven't seen this. Basically, women get pregnant in their late 30s on the expectation of no marriage and single motherhood instead.

Well, that's right. Her problem has been that he has always been so excited to have children and talks about them and even initiated a no condom session all on his own. She then freaked out saying there's gonna be no baby without a ring. And now she's loosened up saying, she can do a quicky ceremony after getting knocked up.

So...he really wants children, he just doesn't want a wedding.

Also watch Southern Charm on Bravo tonight at 10 to see how well this kind of thing works out.

Unless she's willing to abort if she gets pregnant and he refuses to marry her, this isn't gonna end well for her.

How is she trapping him by having his baby if he is fully aware of her intentions, agrees to unprotected sex and to a child? Sounds like they both agree so its fine. If it works out or not, who knows but that is any relationship.

Well, who says he won't come around for a quicky ceremony?

I don't think she's trapping him into forced fatherhood. She's just giving him what she wants in hopes that he'll do a ceremony with her.
