Sure. But how do you justify the fact that that poor civilian is just as likely to be killed by Israel. I’m not sure how you can think that IDF is not harming more Palestinians than Hamas.

We don't know exactly how many civilians died because Hamas used them as human shields.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because Hamas used schools, residential areas, hospitals, refugee camps to launch attacks at the IDF.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because of misfired Hamas rockets blowing up in civilian areas.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because Hamas shot them for trying to get the UN food and humanitarian aid that Hamas refused to distribute to them.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because Hamas took and hoarded medicines for themselves while injured civilians went without.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because Hamas took and hoarded food and water for themselves, while civilians went without.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because they were caught in the crossfire while Hamas fought IDF.
We don't know exactly how many civilians died because their homes collapsed because Hamas tunneled underneath them.
and so on...

But we do know that ALL of those things are happening, and we also know that in every case the numbers are not small. Hamas is killing many, many Palestinians. Thousands. I'm not sure how you can think Hamas is not responsible for many, many Palestinian deaths.

I dunno, why did Israel's first lady blamed Hamas for "cutting up a pregnant woman and stabbing her fetus" with the footage from 2017 Mexico cartel? Boggles the mind. It is a big unexplained mystery of nature.

Except nobody in this thread is currently talking about that photo as supposed evidence of Hamas atrocities, yet here YOU are, falsely touting footage of Russian atrocities in Ukraine as supposed IDF atrocities. That's a big deflection fail. The big unexplained mystery of nature is the one about the argument you thought would work - but doesn't.

What do you mean, nobody? I'm talking about right here.

Maybe we can talk about the war of competing lies, would you like that?

Yep, you are the only one here talking about the Israeli first lady's tweet. Nobody else here did. Nobody else here is giving it the credence and importance you seem to think it should have. Tough luck there. No pro-Israel poster was citing that tweet to try and generate emotional responses.

But YOU were the one who brought up supposed "OMG the IDF is using banned white phosphorus to burn babies!" which is untrue, yet you were caught actively using it to incite anger - whereas none of the pro-Israel posters were using the supposed tweet, which most of us haven't even seen in the first place.

So much for your false equivalence fail.

I wasn’t but you entirely overestimate the importance of who said what on DCUM. Did the First Lady post bogus footage or didn’t she? She did. That’s not in question. Everybody lies.

You STILL miss the point. Once again, for the slow people:

NOBODY in this thread is using the debunked first lady tweet as a means to rile DCUM readers and gain their sympathies in Israel's favor.

But YOU ARE using debunked claims about white phosphorus use against Gazan infants in order to rile DCUM readers and gain their sympathies in Palestines' favor.

Get it now? False equivalence, and very telling that you had to run out and find an example of an "Israel lies" that nobody here even used or bought into, as a way to excuse YOUR OWN lie.

Sorry, but you lost that point.

PP had to FIND an example of an Israeli lie??? It's much harder to search for and find an example of Israeli truth, FFS.

If it was so easy then why such a reach? And face it, it's a straight-up shitty tactic by the PP to try and justify his own brazen lies by saying "yah well Israel lies."

Total fail.

LOL tell us how IDF gets these testimonials. Do they have officers with clipboards on the sidewalks?

No, these are recorded conversations.

Any day now Israel will turn all this testimony and the other evidence they have collected over to international human rights organizations for full investigations with which they will cooperate fully. Right?

I don't know why you are assuming Hamas is such a wonderful organization. Do you think Hamas is giving out lollipops to kids?

Hamas invaded Israel from Gaza. They committed extreme atrocities. They launched a war. Everyone would still be alive if it wasn't for Hamas and what they did.

Every nation in the world would respond militarily to an invasion like what Hamas committed.

If you don't like it, don't start wars. Most people avoid it because they are brutal and awful. But Hamas chose this.

It took more than two months for the UN to even acknowledge that Israeli women suffered during the Hamas attacks. The UN has no credibility. And neither does Amnesty International. Or Human Rights Watch. All those organizations are DEI and profoundly unsympathetic to women and children who aren't part of their list of acceptable people.

Strange, I didn’t say anything about Hamas. My comment was about how I assumed Israel, a first world democracy committed to the rights of civilians, would behave. Because Israel wants the international community to know the truth about all this, right?

Because it's war right now.

The first priority once the shooting stops will be figuring out how the Netenyahu government allowed this to happen to begin with. This was a huge security failure on Israel's part

As for how Israelis conduct this war, it's war. It's not rational. It's not moral. It's not fair. It's a bunch of 20 year old boys trying to kill each other.

Not a healthy place.

Do you think the Marines on Iwo Jima were full of kindness and mirth and good fellowship?

Are you investigating that too?

Hamas invaded Israel and launched this war. And it's sad and tragic. It really doesn't matter who investigates anything. Berlin was terrible. So too Stalingrad. More recently, Fallujah and Mosul.

Why Hamas started this will forever be a mystery. War is serious business. The consequences last for hundreds of years. And no one gives a damn about some investigation.

Why yes there were major international investigations into war crimes following World War Two in the Pacific. Is that news to you?

Don't waste your time with the PP. They post on here everyday with some variation of the same drivel. War is bad, every country would have done the same, Palestinians are the dumbest people ever, blah blah blah. They probably get paid to post these things on social media.

Sadly, no.

But you are totally right. I get tired of all the pro Hamas posts. Think it's annoying. Takes three minutes to respond to these ignorant warmongers.

So, yes, I do think war is bad. I do think every country on the planet would respond militarily to what Hamas did. And I think Palestinians are absolute idiots, strategically, for the way they are pursuing things.

Whoopdeedoo

But I do think Palestinians are being stupid. And I think the kind of people that are posting here are cruel, ignorant dumbasses, but I don't mind engaging.

But please don’t say there has been no increase in antisemitism. The ugliness is everywhere. Including in Yonkers NY where a Jewish HS ( The Leffell School) basketball team was playing Roosevelt HS.

They had to stop the game because the players on Roosevelt’s team were roughing them up and playing violently. They also shouted antisemitic slurs.

It seems that one of the slurs they shouted was “Free Palestine” during the game, while another one was “I’m pro-Hamas you f%#^*ing Jew”. Let’s just see if they suffer any consequences.

https://twitter.com/tararosenblum/status/1744019690412777848?s=46&t=XhMk6KgBaubAd8DNh_wEeQ

I am sure there is an increase in antisemitism. The behavior at the basketball game is horrible, especially roughing up other players. "Free Palestine" is not antisemitic (one can be sympathetic to Palestinians' political aspirations without having any animosity toward Jews), but the other statement you mention is repugnant. Nobody should say that, and I hope the players will be disciplined.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/08/us/new-york-high-school-basketball-investigation-antisemitic-comment/index.html

Free Palestine is not, nor will it ever be, an anti-semitic remark.

And yet a coach and a player suffered IMMEDIATE and SERIOUS consequences - which is exactly what happens EVERY TIME anyone dares to criticize the sacred cow / the 21st century Voldemort / whatever.

This douchenozzle PP jazz hands'd away the FACT of a 6 year old kid being savagely slaughtered in a murderous act of Islamophobia, the FACT of three young men being sprayed with bullets in another murderous act of Islamophobia (one of them now paralyzed), the FACT of a deranged Jewish school teacher threatening to behead a student in yet another act of Islamophobic violence ... because some kids were scared of loud noises on library doors that one time. They asserted that certain language was used (there's no evidence of that, apparently), they asserted that the other team was "roughed up" (there's no evidence of that, apparently). All because Hasbara, and one group's seemingly never-ending campaign to slander critics of Israel and cast itself as victims.

Sincerely, why? Why do we have to deal with this insanity?

You omitted the part where the suspended basketball player said to the Jewish players “you fing Jew”. What does a teenage girl basketball player have to do with the conflict? All didn’t mention how the team tried to rough up the Jewish basketball team. Well deserved firing and suspension.

What doIvy League presidents have to do with the current conflict?

So it’s ok to call teenage girls “fking” Jews now? Got it, pos.

I’m the poster you were responding to whose post literally said nothing about Hamas. I’d suggest you not characterize everyone who views the conflict differently than you you as in favor of a terrorist organization. It’s the argument ad Godwin and it makes it hard to take seriously the idea that you understand nuance.

+ a million
I continue to be astounded by the incredible (deliberate?) ignorance of so many pro-Palestinians when it comes to all of the above. Hamas is pure evil - they are using their own people as human shields. They *do not care* about Palestinian deaths.

Large underground weapons factory located in Gaza. Quelle surprise.

AL BUREIJ, Gaza (Reuters) - Israeli forces located what they said was the largest weapons production site so far found in Gaza, with underground workshops they said were used to produce long-range missiles capable of hitting targets in northern Israel.

The military said that in addition to missiles, the workshops produced copies or adaptations of standard munitions like mortar shells and were connected through underground shafts to a tunnel network used to transport the weapons to fighting units throughout the Gaza Strip.

Israeli officials say Hamas deliberately locates military infrastructure including tunnels in civilian areas in order to make it more difficult to attack it. Hamas denies this and says Israel attacks civilian targets indiscriminately.

I don’t know why you post stupid crap like this. IDF very clearly had no difficulty whatsoever bombing civilian areas. Doesn’t seem like a winning strategy on the part of Hamas, and they don’t seem dumb if they can improvise a factory in the tunnel. IDF history of civilian casualties is well known so Hamas had to know presence of civilians has never held Israelis back.
