Get over yourself. When Bill Clinton dies, the crawl on Fox news is going to be Rapist Former President Bill Clinton Reported Dead. Your legacy is your legacy, good and bad.

Yet, here you have liberal and conservative figures offering condolences and only some public white feminists trying to make themselves the center of attention on this issue. Vile!

Center of attention? Please. You can't look anywhere without seeing massive tributes to Kobe and the family. I think you're just looking to be offended.

I have been reading a lot of Kobe news, and this is only been a niggling distraction. I didn't say they were successful, because most were rightly shut down with their agenda crap. Kobe touched too many lives (no pun intended) for people to countenance it so soon after he passed.

Imagine having social media in the 60's. These lot would going on about how JFK and MLK were adulterers and plagiarizers before the bullets had left their bodies. Time and place.

Can you say who? I haven’t been watching cable news coverage on this.

Evan Rachel Wood, Felicia Sonmez, Moira Donegan, Jill Philipovic, Jessica Valenti. Just honestly look at the demo of all of the think pieces hoping on the "REmeMbER tHe WhOLe PerSOn" train...it's very noticeable.

I don't even know who these people are.

"Journalists" and "Activists"

feel free to ignore, then. you'll be much happier

I do for the most part. But this occasionally creeps when watching videos and reading tributes.

Sounds like basically all the dads and frankly moms I know except for the basketball part.

If you'd like to see some real heroes, like actual people selflessly working for the good of mankind check out Pandemic on Netflix and check your priorities. I know science is harder than basketball for a lot of people but these people are sacrificing and working and risking their lives sometimes to save our species, but yeah let the millions mourn a basketball player who might be a rapist.

And then some wonder why we are where we are as a nation.

You have no idea what you are talking about, nor do you truly grasp the cultural importance of Kobe. Step out of your bubble.

So what has he done that every other generally good person and parent does except play basketball and be generous on a larger scale? And stop with the bubble baloney - that's a lame, meaningless argument for someone who doesn't have a cogent rebuttal.

Do you even watch sports? You honestly sound clueless.

Kobe has inspired millions of people around the world. Literally a global phenomenon. Only a special few have had such a drive for excellence and will to succeed at such a high level and utilized their public platform to evangelize that ethic. He made many, many people want to be better versions of themselves. He was an exemplar for many black men and boys about how to conduct yourself in public, work hard for your goals, bounce back from adversity. He was just beginning to do the same in other arenas. He meant so, so much to so many. Sometimes an athlete is more than just an athlete. Sometimes a singer is more than just a singer. Sometimes an artist is more than just an artist. Do not seek to diminish that which you do not understand.

She has so much nerve to say anything when she works with Woody Allen.

Yup! And that is why she got blasted and has now taken her twitter private. Hypocrite and a joke. Rapists are fine as long as she can benefit from it...

Yeah, she got hammered for the selective outrage.

If now isn’t the time to talk about it (and I’m not saying it is), at which magical date can we discuss the hard part?

There is his baseball legacy which has touched millions of people around the world. I do not think his personal life needs to be brought into it, especially when he was aquitted. And his adultry is none of our business, its between him and Vanessa.

To be clear, he wasn’t acquitted...case was dropped after the accuser refused to testify after she was dragged through the mud and received death threats. The civil case was reportedly settled for an estimated $2.5M.

Worth watching what Stephen Colbert, who lost his father and two brothers in a plane crash, had to say about this. It was not what I expected.

Why do people do this? Insult an entire segment of the population because a small handful of similar people did something you didn't like? Anyway, this going entirely off topic, and KOBE WAS RAISING HIS GIRLS to be feminists, and I really don't think he'd want you here insulting feminist over his honor. He'd probably be pretty oK with the outpouring of love he's gotten. RIP.

A rapist is a rapist. Does not matter he becomes a sports superstar or a president.

No person is a saint. Kobe was a great basketball player. In this life he more more than compensated for his talent. This does not automatically makes him a global hero. Basketball hero? Undoubtedly!!

Yes, shame on us white feminists, not wanting to hero worship an adulterer and accused rapist because he was good at a sport...

It's sad he died. I feel for his family/kids. But he was just another man, a flawed man.

Karmic law is very simple. It is something like Newton's law if motion - Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. He was blessed for all his gifts, talents and good deeds. Maybe, just maybe his injury to two women in the rape case also elicited some Karmic payback.

He is a global hero. He is bigger than basketball. He has had memorials and tributes in China, Philippines,Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain etc. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and AC Milan three of the biggest, most historical global football clubs have had moments of silence for him. Italy has announced a week of mourning. Players at the Australian Open wore his jersey in tribute. All of the biggest global athletes, some of the best to ever do it in their sports, have paid respects. Heads of state and foreign dignitaries have done the same. He was a cosmopolitain, global figure and hero to many across the globe.

Or maybe just life and accidents happen to people no matter how good or bad they are? Some of the best people I have ever known have faced tragic endings such as this. Some scoundrels I know will probably crack 100 years. That's life.

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong. Time and chance happen to them all.
