Not a lawyer, but I read that he has no case since it’s true he was in Prague.

Cohen has until next Wednesday to declare his intentention to invoke the fifth in the NDA case. The judge will make a ruling next week on Cohen's request for a 90 day stay.

Because Cohen WAS in Prague and the truth is an unbeatable defense in a defamation suit. And now that the Feds have all his papers Cohen wouldn't be able to hide things during discovery.

But why would he have sued in the first place? It's a bizarre action if he was never in Prague, it's beyond bizarre if he was in Prague but thought he was sneaky enough that nobody would ever figure it out.

Truth is a defense to libel.

He’s a bully. And a dumb one to boot.

He bluffed, and they called him on it.

Isn’t it a wee bit odd that the Trump inner circle all but concedes that Trump is immersed in illegality and are therefore scared that Cohen will flip?

Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected. Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means lying or making up stories. Sorry, I don’t see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!

So, I don't see Michael Cohen making up stories either. The question thus becomes, if Cohen is going to "flip" it implies there is something to "flip" about. So what is the President concerned about?

Do tell.

It’s actually an increasingly popular tactic for the right wing to bring meritless defamation suits to silence their critics. They don’t care if they can never win—they just want the critics to spend millions defending themselves so it scares off more critics. They can ask the Court to keep everything under seal up until trial, at which point they settle or drop the case so none of it becomes public. It’s awful and there’s a lot of respected lawyers skirting Rule 11 with these cases.

Oh, this is sad. I thought Trump and Maggie were buddies. I guess she has fallen out of favor. It's not good for the president to lose buds, he's already pretty isolated.

Trump himself tweeted today about Cohen flipping. If Trump is so innocent, what’s there to flip on? He basically admiited guilt and is witness tampering all in one tweet!

Meanwhile Cohen’s records almost certainly contain dirt on his non-client, Sean Hannity. Tick tock, Sean.

Trump knew you might jump to that conclusion. So his tweet talked about flipping, even if that includes lying and making up stories. so if he flips, it will be based on lies. Glad Trump can think through complex situations like this and focus on what's important.

Yeah, Trump is trying to get ahead and pre-emptively cast doubt on Cohen's testimony, saying that if he provides info, it will be coerced lies and stories made up to keep his ass out of jail. Telling.
