IAC Lacrosse

Stay classy, Purple Eagle!

No Gonzaga affiliation at all (other than having some friends that went there, but the same is true of Bullis) - just call it like I see it. Bullis had more cakewalk games than any other team in the IAC.

They also played an overall harder schedule than anyone in the DMV. LOL. Eat it.

Funny, folks who know HS Lacrosse would disagree 100%. And, folks like the guys who developed the Laxpower formula for determining SOS say you are completely wrong: http://www.laxpower.com/update16/binboy/natlsos.php

Bullis: 243rd hardest schedule in the nation.
Gonzaga: 173
Prep: 77
Landon: 74
SSSA: 72

So, what was that you were saying about them playing an overall harder schedule than anyone in the DMV? They weren't even close. Not begrudging them, but their schedule was front-loaded and once they got through game six, easy relative to the rest of the IAC. Congrats to them though. They earned their IAC championship through hard work, good coaching, and very smart scheduling.

Props to Bullis for not ducking Hill ad McDonogh. The IAC wasn't a super strong conference this year. Landon wasn't tops and GP was bad. If we are going to criticize out of conference schedules, Landon and Prep played weak ones relative to Bullis. Landon drops teams they lost to in year past.

LOL. They played Hill, BL and McDonogh. Yeah, those are cupcakes.

Notice you didn't credit them for having great talent. Best attack in the country this year, and only Gonzaga could argue to have better talent overall.

Love that purple kool aid.

Wow, your reading comprehension skills mirror that of well, a Bullis student. I alluded to Hill and McDonogh in my comment about their early schedule. Neglected to mention BL, sorry. I didn't say they didn't play anyone good. All I said was their schedule had a number of softies on it - and funny how LaxPower agrees. It was smart scheduling. Nothing wrong with that. But to pretend they had the hardest schedule in the DMV is a joke. I get it Bullis fans: you win so infrequently you don't know how to do it properly. But don't get your panties in a bunch simply because someone points out the obvious, namely that Bellistri mixed a number of easy W's into the schedule to rest his starter's legs. SSSA would have been wise to do the same. It was a smart move, especially for that attack you reference which lost some depth in mid-April or so. But we don't need to discuss how that happened, do we?

And again, no Gonzaga affiliation at all outside of being tight w some alums, although I was at the Bullis v Gonzaga game. Watching them put on a clinic v Bullis was impressive.

The kid who was kicked out played midfield, not attack. Not a Bullis supporter, but Gonzaga benefits every year playing a ton of cupcakes (i.e. the entire WCAC).

Bullis played some weak teams, but they also took on the best of the best. I think if you talk a big game about how you should be ranked nationally and point to things, you can't get by on that when you duck Hill, duck Culver and schedule the MIAA weaklings rather than the top teams in that conference. It is impressive that Bullis took Hill to the 4th quarter. Frankly Landon and Prep look lame for skipping out when Hill and Culver come through looking for games. Laxpower SOS stats are easy to manipulate...just schedule a bunch of pretty good teams and duck the great ones. Talk is cheap.

How many IAC grads were playing in the lacrosse final 4 today?

All 3 of the top IAC plays a harder schedule than Gonzaga.

The WCAC was just a bad lacrosse conference this year - no excuses. Gonzaga didn't play anyone even worth mentioning on their schedule after their game against Landon in early April.

Sweet you beat Bullis on the first game of the season in March. I have no idea what would have happened if Gonzaga played Bullis again in May or even Saint Stephens.

Some one on LAXPower listed the high schools of the 764 players in the NCAA Tournament

IAC - 17 Total (2.2% of Total Tourney Players)

GP - 6
SSSA 4
EHS/BUL/Landon - 2 each
STA - 1

WCAC - 12 Total

GZA - 4
DeMatha - 3

MIAA (Baltimore Private) - 63 Total (8.2% of Total Tourney Players)

Calvert Hall - 15
Boy's Latin - 14
Gilman - 9
St Mary's - 6

i was wondering about that too i saw the announcement on their twitter about big news.

They're close to an agreement to be merged into 3d.
I don't think this will ever happen

Did this happen?

No. Now that Trig is taking over at St. John's, he'll use the club to lure kids to SJC/feed BW with those kids.

Agree completely. For the life of me I cannot understand why Bullis ducked Culver and scheduled MIAA weaklings St. Mary's and St. John's Catholic Prep.

How do you know for a fact that "Bullis ducked Culver"? They scheduled McDonogh and BL, 2 of the best in the nation. They also played Hill Academy, the #1 team in the nation.

For all you or anyone else knows, maybe they did try to schedule Culver and it didn't work out. Pretty funny that you are insinuating they are ducking teams when they scheduled the #1, #2 and #10 teams in their out of conference season.

Both Gonzaga and Bullis had strong out of conference schedules. Bullis had a strong conference schedule as well whereas Gonzaga is hurt by another weak WCAC lineup.

They scheduled the best two in the MIAA (which the previous poster ignored), and they are ducking teams? LOL.
