And you apparently don't seem to understand that willfully doing something stupid (like using drugs) is a bad mistake with completely foreseeable bad results for yourself. Nothing good was going to come of that night. She chose to self harm which is terribly sad.
Can we all agree that she made a mistake and have empathy for her?
No. Take your love of Becky elsewhere. In this thread, white women do bear responsibility for their actions.
Ugh. Stop with the white vs. black thing already! It's getting so frickin' tired. Maybe this person is just asking that a human being have sympathy for another human being who died. You don't know this poster. You don't that she would only feel empathy for white people. Stop being so damn close minded and obsessed with race!
I wouldn't have put it the way that the PP did, but I agree that if this story had been about a woman of color, the articles would not be "doctor, wife, and mother" first and "drug addict who overdosed" second. If it made the news at all, which I doubt would happen, it would be able a drug addict who overdosed who also happened to be a doctor, wife, and mother. Let's not forget that a couple days ago, a black doctor on an airport was instructed by a flight attendant to sit down while they found a "real" doctor to respond to an emergency.
