Nice non-violent protests. I imagine that burning things down comes next.

Oh, come now. They're mostly peaceful.

Trending the wrong way. DNC is going to see some real ugliness, which will help Trump.

Some things are more important than political horse races, you know.

Funny. For me, the well-being of the United States of America is FAR more important than anything happening in Israel/Gaza.

Helping the poor and working class, the environment, protecting women's rights--all priorities for me.

Perhaps your loyalties lie elsewhere.

+1

also, for gd's sake, do you think you are going to come out better than you are now if trump is reelected? do you think a single person in gaza will be better off?

There is little difference between Trump and Biden in term on Gaza or the Palestinians. The only difference being is Trump will knife Israel in the back if Bibi is still in control.

well if that's what you honestly believe - wrongly i think, but forget that - then is there not any other issue you care enough about to actually choose one over the other?

let's say it's not abortion, because then this would be an easy choice. nothing else? nothing?

It is very naïve to believe that all women are pro-abortion. It is not as easy a choice as you would think.

I care more about Biden rolling back Title IX and our border being overrun with illegal immigrants than anything happening across the ocean. But if these rich terrorist start causing me personal trouble, i.e., I miss a flight because they block the entrance to an airport, then I will be all in voting for someone willing to destroy them.

And we all know who that would be.

You must be a man. All pregnant women are affected by new bans, including women who very much want a healthy baby. GOP will kill women through lack of access to healthcare. It goes so beyond being pro choice or not.

Nope, a woman. Not all women are 100% behind abortion for any reason. I care far more about my safety in sex segregated spaces and schools that are being crushed under the weight of catering to illegal alien children.

Those things affect my everyday life more than getting an abortion.

There is a distinct vibe emerging in these posts that a cross-section of the voices here believe that anti-semitism is not only "a bigger problem" than Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination, but it's actually worse than the actual killing of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians.

It's not. It's not even in the same universe as taking even one innocent life. Inconvenience or feeling comfortable for even unsafe isn't the same as the taking of someone's life.

Wanna know who's inconvenienced and doesn't feel safe? Palestinians. People whose land, existence and future was stolen from them over the course of the last 100 years.

Anti-semitism isn't a "special" evil that is any worse than any other form of bigotry. If you disagree, your views are irrelevant to the prospect of moving this discussion forward.

Just curious, in your view, since Jews presumably did not come from outer space, which piece of land DID they come from?

Some of us don't care if Palestinians have their own country or not. The pretense of your post is that their having a country is something that we all MUST agree with, and that is not true. Israel doesn't HAVE to exist. No country has to exist. But I am not going to seek the downfall of a country or support those who seek a downfall of a democratic country. You can protest and cause inconvenience and scream scream scream all you want, you will not change the minds of people who feel the way I do.

Which also explains their obsession with Ukraine.

Super weird question to ask based off that post, but ...

The individuals identifying themselves as jews in Israel today? If so, I'd say ...

35 - 40% from Eastern Europe / Soviet Bloc
20 - 30% areas like Europe and North Africa, etc.
15 - 20% Levant
10 - 15% Americas

Since you didn't ask, here's where the Palestinians living in the region today come from ...

100% Levant

But back to the point? I take it you think anti-semitism is a bias that deserves special recognition as worse than other biases? Why?

You are not a woman because you don't understand the very basic pregnancy issues I am talking about. It's not about abortion, it's about bleeding while pregnant with a WANTED child, and ERs refusing to see you and save your life and the life of your baby.

Couple points:
I think you assume I am Jewish--I am not. My ancestors arrived to the U.S. in a hull of a ship in the 1700s to South Carolina to work in rice fields.

But anyways, your whole argument is that some people have what you want and that is not right. That is not how things work, you are coming from a place of jealousy. Lands are won by treaties, agreements, wars, etc, all sorts of things, someone is always the winner and someone will lose. It is not my concern that Arabs have not been able to win their wars against Israel over the last 80 years. I will not fight your war for you, no matter how sad and angry you are. I don't care. I will say it twice. I don't care.

How far back do we go? Big Bang?
My ancestors 50,000 years ago also lived in what is currently Israel.

DP. You are the typical dumb American. You are a direct party in this conflict. You have staged massive military equipment, thousands of troops, depleted missile and armament stocks, taking on hundreds of billions of debt at record interest rate, to fund the violent temper tantrums of a little colony. Israel will go the way of South Africa and the only thing you’ll have to show for it is massive debt and loss of power and influence.

Yes supporting Israel will cost Biden. Supporting Israel will have negative consequences for US politicians. It is just a matter of time till the US pulls the pledge on Israel. Huge mistake on making Israel a left /right issue.

Progressives seem to think electing Trump is going to be awesome for Palestinians.

And they are willing to throw women, workers, the environment, health care, and everything else liberals care about under the bus for their little fantasy.

You should be asking Biden and his gang of merry pro-Israel stooges if they are willing to destroy American democracy, women's rights, healthcare and everything else to kowtow to Israel. It's clear they'd rather let Trump win than to part ways or change their policies regarding Israel. The ball is in their court. Don't blame voters for being unwilling to vote for a Genocide Joe.

Don't blame you for taking action that will BOTH hurt America and hurt Palestinians?

Right.

Some people won't vote for someone actively aiding ethnic cleansing. There are other parties on the ballot.

Goodie for you. You get to feel righteous while harming millions of Americans.

A real paragon of virtue, you are.

Biden’s policies have virtually destroyed US’s biggest strategic asset - it’s BRAND.
And I am not talking about Internationally, I am talking about internally. The ideology and set of values that created cohesion in this country has been stripped away, revealing a nihilistic power class that is only concerned with keeping a stranglehold on power by the cruelest means.

That’s exactly how I feel about Trump. Who’s right?
