Nice non-violent protests. I imagine that burning things down comes next.

Oh, come now. They're mostly peaceful.

Trending the wrong way. DNC is going to see some real ugliness, which will help Trump.

Some things are more important than political horse races, you know.

Funny. For me, the well-being of the United States of America is FAR more important than anything happening in Israel/Gaza.

Helping the poor and working class, the environment, protecting women's rights--all priorities for me.

Perhaps your loyalties lie elsewhere.

+1

also, for gd's sake, do you think you are going to come out better than you are now if trump is reelected? do you think a single person in gaza will be better off?

There is little difference between Trump and Biden in term on Gaza or the Palestinians. The only difference being is Trump will knife Israel in the back if Bibi is still in control.

There is a big difference. Trump is not a Neocon, he is deeply averse to war. For all of his bravado he ultimately leans towards deal making. I don’t know if he will be better for Palestinians or anti war Americans but there sure is a better chance with him vs. the deeply entrenched, out of touch approach of the neocons.

Yes supporting Israel will cost Biden. Supporting Israel will have negative consequences for US politicians. It is just a matter of time till the US pulls the pledge on Israel. Huge mistake on making Israel a left /right issue.

Progressives seem to think electing Trump is going to be awesome for Palestinians.

And they are willing to throw women, workers, the environment, health care, and everything else liberals care about under the bus for their little fantasy.

You should be asking Biden and his gang of merry pro-Israel stooges if they are willing to destroy American democracy, women's rights, healthcare and everything else to kowtow to Israel. It's clear they'd rather let Trump win than to part ways or change their policies regarding Israel. The ball is in their court. Don't blame voters for being unwilling to vote for a Genocide Joe.

Don't blame you for taking action that will BOTH hurt America and hurt Palestinians?

Right.

Some people won't vote for someone actively aiding ethnic cleansing. There are other parties on the ballot.

Goodie for you. You get to feel righteous while harming millions of Americans.

A real paragon of virtue, you are.

Biden’s policies have virtually destroyed US’s biggest strategic asset - it’s BRAND.
And I am not talking about Internationally, I am talking about internally. The ideology and set of values that created cohesion in this country has been stripped away, revealing a nihilistic power class that is only concerned with keeping a stranglehold on power by the cruelest means.

Xi Jinping and the CCP are cackling at how foolish we look on the world stage. How can we talk about China's human rights policies when we actively support genocide in Gaza? We look stupid!

Biden's sole comment on the protests (“I condemn the antisemitic protests,”) is as tone deaf and trivializing as him saying that he understood "the other team" bombed the hospital.

There are outside non-student groups making some hateful remarks and the universities or police should be using drone cameras to record and catch those at fault or disperse non-student crowds on private/university property. However, the vast (all? ) of the actual student protests have been respectful and in solidarity with people currently suffering.

If Biden was truly the empathetic and thinking person he purports to be, he should consider why students feel this passionately about the topic.

Sure, he can ignore. And perhaps Trump is horrible enough people will hold their noses and vote for Biden...but I am really not sure I can.

Roe v Wade is already overturned. Call me dumb, but I am currently weighing how much more damage Trump can do vs. my internal moral compass that fundamentally believes that providing weapons to fund death in foreign wars is just not ok.

So you are opposed to the Ukraine funding then? And Taiwan?

DP

Yes, I am opposed to funding both Ukraine and Taiwan. But remind me again how Taiwan is using U.S. funding to slaughter babies in incubators?

I think that you overestimate by far how much likely voters care about Gaza.

Yes!

Let's reinvest the dollars we are spending to kill people on far off lands to improve healthcare and education in the US. I would also love to see greater investment by the US in South and Central American countries as this will help stabilize the economic situation there and assist with our current migrant crisis.

Unfortunately there is not a candidate running on this platform.

I am listening to Here and Now right now, and the student they are interviewing won't even say a fn word about the anti-semitism we're all seeing in the protests.

Asked twice, she just said, "I don't want to answer that question."

Christ, these people.

How much more damage can Trump do? During his first term, the only things that kept him from going completely off the rails were the warnings from advisors that certain behaviors would hurt his re-election chances. So of course, after the election he...went completely off the rails, culminating in January 6. Four years of a lame duck Trump scares the bejeezus out of me.

well if that's what you honestly believe - wrongly i think, but forget that - then is there not any other issue you care enough about to actually choose one over the other?

let's say it's not abortion, because then this would be an easy choice. nothing else? nothing?

It is very naïve to believe that all women are pro-abortion. It is not as easy a choice as you would think.

I care more about Biden rolling back Title IX and our border being overrun with illegal immigrants than anything happening across the ocean. But if these rich terrorist start causing me personal trouble, i.e., I miss a flight because they block the entrance to an airport, then I will be all in voting for someone willing to destroy them.

And we all know who that would be.

You must be a man. All pregnant women are affected by new bans, including women who very much want a healthy baby. GOP will kill women through lack of access to healthcare. It goes so beyond being pro choice or not.

Being on private property and refusing to leave is not protesting, it is trespassing.
