Someone just bought the fairfax union domain: http://www.fairfaxunion.com/
No one owns fairfaxvirginiaunion.com . If I'm an enterprising SYC, I buy it. |
If I'm McLean, I form an alliance with Potomac for the girls side. Gives an option in MOCO, and gives Potomac girls a pathway to ECNL (boys already are) |
Lies, the domain was purchased back in 11/07/2021...... Fake news all over huh?

Thank you for your words of wisdom, your kid will also be a great addition to the college intramural team! |
It’s 3 clubs - VYS, MYS, BRYC. |
Yes go as FDA black first team and FDA white second team, and avoid blue and green |
Don’t see how this is a full club (rec through ECNL) merger. This has to be an ECNL teams merger, boys and girls, but would have to be controlled by 1 club/legal entity. Otherwise would just be a partnership or alliance with everyone able to take their toys and go home if they don’t like the results. |
Yes their teams are good. their 2009 team has been national champion for two years now. |
Yep, ECNL is handing these kids to the 3 GA clubs on a platter. Flowing 30-40 customers per age group towards the GA clubs. They may just succeed in making the GA clubs the preferred clubs in Fairfax County! |
And don’t forget that SYC before partnering with McLean was successful sending kids to USNT or D1 colleges. The didn’t need ECNL or GA to develop top players. |
This just isn’t true. SYC sending players to usynt? Haha |
Consolidation and cutting players is the point. Not every kid on Brave or Union is playing at the ECNL level. Consolidate to keep the stronger players and yes players will be cut. They can go to GA or ECNL-RL. |
Although true, it was meant for the boys side. The girls side is just collateral damage. |
I think they meant generally YNT. The main reason why SYC has been good immediately in MLSN and will rise with the tide that is GA's current vision of building infrastructure of smaller to medium size clubs who have a track record of developing talent at any cost and not doting to US soccer. Because soccer frankly just matter more to these families; and because SYC has always catered to those families that live, breath, and live close by SYC facilities. Mainly immigrant communities who do not care or even know about ECNL/GA is until its too late. Their country's YNT is far more significant achievement. Now everyone pretty much knows all the leagues and boom GA shows up at you doorstep and in a vulnerable position with mighty FCV falling apart in VA. Time will tell but SYC is Rising Don't care about MD, cause Bethesda has all that on lock, but Coppermine is interesting too in the same SYC convo IMO |
Exactly… they will be sending the weaker players right to GA. I give them credit they are trying to do what they can to stay an Elite League. I also acknowledge that it’s a crappy process for kids to have to go through. Especially the older ones. But as much as it hurts the ECNL is under no obligation to provide a spot for everyone. I just hope it’s as fair a process as possible. |
