Exactly… they will be sending the weaker players right to GA.
I give them credit they are trying to do what they can to stay an Elite League.
I also acknowledge that it’s a crappy process for kids to have to go through. Especially the older ones. But as much as it hurts the ECNL is under no obligation to provide a spot for everyone. I just hope it’s as fair a process as possible.

Assuming of course that this is happening, right? This was just a troll post, no?

None of this is happening so stop wasting your time

It's happening - confirmed

The problem is player placement, it is all politics at Mclean and will hurt badly Brave players who are coming from a healthy environment.

You forget one thing: money; I can't see the club letting the kid go. That is at least $2500-$3500 per kid

how many kids do you see moving from ECNL-RL to ECNL within the same club?

Metro United tried this with Potomac and GA. Didn’t work out so well. Maybe the geography would be different but everyone on Potomac good enough already leaves for Bethesda. Happens every year. Some even leave for the 2nd team/RL. Lately a number have left for SAC …. after SAC players have left for Bethesda.

You can see where Potomac falls in the pecking order. They’d add nothing to McLean barring a major change in their player pipeline. The top would most likely still go to Bethesda.

All these new alliances and new clubs should get caught up on history. No matter how much they think this time will be different, the fact is there just aren't enough national level players (girls) in this area to support the number of national league teams.

Even though there is one less team now with Brave and Union coming together, there were two more added in GA. It's musical chairs and there are only 4 or 5 chairs but 7 or 8 clubs trying to find one. Hard to see how any but the biggest, most established clubs survive.

Please provide proof Brave and Union are coming together

MV loves politics and will thrive at McLean. If he is a coach and you’re not from Vienna. Good luck.

Let's hope the selection process is merit based and not deep pockets getting their kids buried in the team since the coaches are in their pockets. If I were Brave, I will demand an independent coach to come assess the players at the tryouts and make the selection so its fair. The teams can make their Veo games available as part of the evaluation of each player. Unfortunately, this would not happen and there will still be weak links on the consolidated team (undersize, not fast and physical, technical skills lacking and always getting pushed off the ball).

The stronger players always have do more to compensate for this when they are in the game, like they are playing one or two players down. This creates a situation where the these stronger players are risking getting injured -- ACL, MCL tears. These coaches really need to clean this up.

Under Coach Kevin (Bethesda), this will never happen. The weak ones rarely plays and eventually are replaced.

Merit based soccer in America? This doesn't even happen at the national team level.

Agree. That is why they performed poorly at this past world cup

In a new equal partnership and the new ECNL club it won’t be up to just McLean-Union.
