If their coaches have any talent at all they should be in the IAC championship and most likely be the best team in the dmv for one last time. After this year, Landon will fall off the map completely and they will be totally irrelevant moving forward unless they hire new coaches, a new AD and get a new head of the school. Otherwise, the writing is on the wall at Landon that they’ve clearly given up on all athletics and are going a different direction.

Thanks Cabel.

Sorry But that 2024 class has 1 High Level D1 commit. This is the easy way to measure all the local teams. Data. Not opinion.

They have a Georgetown DE and UT commit in the 2024 class. All three schools were in the NCAA tournament last year.

Sorry but Delaware and Utah are not Tier 1 programs and almost never in top 20. Those are automatic qualifier tournament bids.

Both teams finished in the top 20. Do your research.

Delaware has come on very strong under DeLuca?

Two years ago they made it to the quarterfinals

Last year they lost by a goal to Duke in the first round.

Delaware might not have the program history of UNC or a Georgetown but they are def a top 15 program now

You’re funny.

I thought the discussion was about HS….

Just goes to show that some people have no clue and are living like we’re still in the 90s. Lax has some serious parody nowadays across all levels, especially at the D1 level. We shall see how the spring season goes….

UNC hasn’t had a good team in years! That’s funny!

I agree but I think that Landon with a Bucknell and Several D3 commits is a strong 24 class.

Breechi is a lousy coach.

Anyone can recruit players to Chapel Hill, the town and the campus recruit itself

Right now I’d probably go

1. Prep
2. SJC
3. GZ
4. Bullis
5. Landon

But I don’t think anyone has definite separation right now. I do think those five are clearly better than the rest of the pack though.

Bullis was average last year and they graduated 2 starting defenders, two starting attackmen, and two starting middies. While their 2025 class is very strong, I think they are a year away from being a serious DMV contender. Their 2024 class is very weak relative to the programs listed here.

On paper, Gonzaga and Landon have plenty of talent but coaching at these programs is rather suspect.

Prep is the wild card with their dorms and picking up out-of-town transplants.

The Cadets while the best-coached team on this list, it will be interesting to see how they respond without their All-American keeper and All-American FOGO.

Agree with the PP, the degree of separation between these programs right now will be razor-thin.

Talent.
Prep and Gonzaga, then everyone else.
Same story for the last five years.

We will see how the Landon 24 Class does. Some of those kids might be have been over-rated or peaked early or maybe they still have some development left.

There looks to be young talent at Landon in the 25 and 26 classes.

To suggest the Landon coaches are not very good, well, that is a stretch.

To suggest Landon has given up on athletics and lacrosse will fall off the map is also a stretch. Landon will continue to be the place to go if you want to play two or three sports, have a rigorous academic experience, attend a boys school, be taught, coached, and advised by the same high quality educators, and be a part of a great community. If you have decided you are a D-1 athlete in a specific sport in 8th grade, and you want to specialize in that sport, you don't care about academics, you don't mind major ethical lapses, and you want coaches that will purposely recruit over you, go somewhere else.
