Data today 7pm

They are discussing this now on the IG site. They said there is a technical issue that is preventing them from posting the data for today. Once it is resolved it will be up.

This really is not the dystopian landscape the fear mongers would have you believe.

+1 I absolutely believe there are schools in MCPS that are currently in crisis. There are also schools that are not. We need MCPS to figure out which is which and move the crisis schools to virtual.

Bingo--can you please be Superintendent? Our schools (ES and MS) seem to be doing okay. Busses are running, well-staffed, not a huge number of kids in quarantine and everything seems to be chugging along. But there are certainly schools in our area that have significant operational needs right now and it sounds like those are not being addressed by the county on that case by case basis.

The website now says "Due to an unforseen technical difficulty, the positive case rates document will not be published on Jan. 12. This problem we hope to rectify early on Jan. 13 and we will post the data as soon as it is available."

What’s the technical difficulty? They don’t know how to add? They don’t know how to make a pdf? They don’t know how to post a file? At this point, I’d believe all the above.

someone please tell them on the IG site to:
1) Make a Google Doc Spread Sheet. post link so that public can view only. editing rights to one or two people at each school.
2) Have each school enter two simple numbers by 7 pm.

McKnight does not need to do a damned thing to make this happen. Yet she has thrown another wrench into informing the community. Another faillure on her record. Broke this promise in record time!

What are they going to say? The numbers were too big?

We are dragging our heels as long as possible so more teachers have to go back from quarantine?

But maybe you meant:

some newspaper ought to do a data driven analysis of the MCPS policy choices and WHETHER OR NOT they endangered students and staff.

Or are just asking for someone to find evidence supporting what you believe (in the absence of this evidence) to be true?

Hmm. Perhaps my use of language was colored by the fact that we got a notice today saying that my kid had been exposed to a COVID positive person who was in school yesterday? So, yes, I feel the question is not whether but how. I am for ed to send my kid to school in these circumstances.

exactly. It’s all BS to hide the ball. McKnight just needs to have an intern post a google doc. each school can verify the daily count and enter it. WHAT. IS. SO. HARD. ????

Well, that’s the state of things now. Kids all over the world are in-person. You have choices if you don’t want to participate.

When they lost tomorrow’s data they also need to post today’s. Something is rotten in Denmark here.
