I think "from" was omitted from the thread title, but OP probably ought to clarify what she means by "B students," as that could be a B average to some people (3.0 GPA) or anything below an A- GPA (3.66) to others.

Weighted or unweighted?

JMU, GMU, CNU, VCU are all excellent options for in state.

Um, no. B students were the ones busy making connections in the back row. They were wheeling and dealing already.

JMU is really hard to get into from northern VA high schools. GMU is less desireable b/c most kids want to "go away" to school. I think CNU, VCU, ODU, Radford and Longwood are all "B" student territory.

There's also Mary Washington....

I don't think JMU or GMU are that tough to get into from NoVa high schools. Some of the statistics might suggest otherwise, because they are safety schools for a lot of "A" students who end up going to UVA, W&M and VT.

I'd say CNU, UMW and VCU are good bets for "B" students," and that just about any NoVa kid who is on track to graduate can get into ODU, Radford and Longwood.

Probably still living at home in the basement playing video games.

I don't know why everyone rags on Longwood. I have an A student relative from Loudon County who was offered a scholarship to Longwood. He majored in Physics and was offered multiple jobs before he graduating.

A students aren't going to Tech. That's in the middle tier with JMU. UVA and W&M / VT and JMU / CNU, Mason, VCU, etc.
