Those familiar with the case say the assistant that dropped off $40,000 to the home that day has been a bit inconsistent with what he says happened that day. Police say the incident was in part motivated by money.
Daron Wint, who once worked for American Iron Works, the Savopoulos family's business, is charged with four counts of first-degree murder for their deaths. Just because Wint is the only person charged doesn't mean he is the only suspect in the case, according to prosecutor Deborah Hines. Hines told us, "Well, there had to be some connection between Wint worked there, like, 10 years ago so there has to be some connection to someone that Wint knows that's working there now that was able to give the details to know about the money and that they could get the money delivered to the house." http://www.wusa9.com/story/news/local/2015/05/25/daron-wint-may-not-be-only-suspect-in-savopoulos-murder-case/27908985/ |
Things aren't looking good for the assistant..imo |
| Please don't post the name of an almost certainly innocent 18-year old boy whose only certain connection to this case is that he took Wint's half-sister (the one his dad got a restraining order for him to stay away from) to prom. Based solely on your supposition that he runs like the blurry video guy! There's such a (great) effort to keep the name of the assistant off of this thread, and that guy lied to police. This poor teenager has done literally nothing that we know of. Please extend him the same courtesy. Sheesh. |
Good point! The assistant lied to the police for a reason. |
I would not. The sister seems like a great kid. I believe she is a half sister. Different mothers. |
| I can't believe people actually believe that block people are not as horrified and appalled by this heinous crime and that we are not desperately waiting, as everyone else, for all those involved to be caught and dealt with accordingly. This view is shocking to me. I have been in years over this little boy and his family. I don't think any black person would take offense. SMH |

I agree - the idea that every law-abiding citizen isn't horrified is pretty offensive.

You are right. I am sorry. That was a stupid question to ask. |
I hate to think the assistant knowingly provided the info to DW. However, it is quite possible they knew each other or twiiter friends. As I mentioned, my kids are friends with almost every teen in our city. I hate it. I also found his name, video and addresses. He lived in Lantham at one time. Plus, in the town the car was found. Praying it is just a coincidence. He seemed to have a good personality. I can see SS hiring him. |
Maybe they drugged it or fed it a raw steak |
Not a stupid question to me, it's understandable. and thanks for asking before you posted.

Nobody actually made such a suggestion. Some posters appear to be replying to imaginary posts rather than actual posts. I said that the Washington Post might be limiting its coverage of this crime because it doesn't want to appear to be giving overwhelming coverage to these murders when it ignores so many other murders in the city. That in no way suggests that black people are not horrified and appalled by this crime, but rather that the Post and its readers are not necessarily horrified or even interested in the significantly larger number of murders that occur regularly in the city. Some posters have suggested that the Post is giving adequate coverage to this crime and perhaps that is correct. But, my own experience is that I am finding more relevant and more frequent coverage from the local TV stations (via their websites). The television reporters in my experience have been more active in updating Twitter as well. Regardless, the primary point of my earlier post was that the Post should cover other murders more. |
The video that shows his "good demeanor" is also a video for self promotion to get sponsors for racing. It's not a candid video of him in real life.Imo |
Let's please drop the rampant speculation of the assistant. Poster are getting pretty stalkerish here and my patience with it is running out. |
