That story is heartbreaking and awful. As are the stories about Americans who have been killed, raped, or otherwise abused by gang members and other criminals who have been allowed to enter the country illegally. It seems like everyone in the US (right, left, and center) should be able to put aside politics and agree to secure the border, and remove everyone who is here illegally.

For you, the story is not awful, be honest and drop the charade. This man, a naturalized citizen has nothing to do with illegal border crossings or other examples you cited. A day of reckoning will come, be prepared to defend your views.

Well put. I wonder if the PP you were responding to knows (or cares) that there are approximately 24-26 million naturalized U.S. citizens. I really have to wonder what plan ICE has in place to quickly distinguish naturalized citizens from migrants who are undocumented or here on some other visa status.

how would you want ICE to go about identifying those who are in the country illegally?

They should follow the procedures they used under previous administrations, including under Trump's first term.

But they are deviating from however they were doing things before in the following ways:

*the rhetoric provided by the administration, along with talk of "absolute immunity," has created a permission structure to be extra aggressive
*the daily quota of 3000 arrests a day set by VP Miller has put extra pressure on officers to arrest more and more people and has decreased their respect for civil rights
*the purchase and use of new surveillance equipment from Palantir and others has raised troubling questions about privacy for US citizens
*the need to film interactions between ICE and migrants to produce content for DHS propaganda videos
*the push to hire 10,000+ new officers and train them in half the time has meant a decrease in skills and quality of candidates
*the strategic use of "surges" like the one going on in Minneapolis right now that are meant to intimidate the local populace and punish blue cities
*the use of masks and paramilitary equipment,
*and so much more.

We’ll Biden had 4 years of completely open borders resulting in 10-12 million illegals, many of which are criminals. So, obviously, the tactics need to be updated to deal with this. Can’t follow the same old slow playbook.

Give me a cite for your claim that “many” of the migrants are criminals. Just because this administration says it doesn’t mean it’s true.
38000 in ICE detention have criminal records or current criminal proceedings. CNN reported this today on cable channel.

Many of 12 million are supposedly criminals and you think 38,000 is meaningful?

Not to mention that the word “criminal” can encompass anything from minor traffic violations all the way to murder. Everyone supports deporting real criminals, but MAGA needs to stop trying to make it seem as if migrants are more criminal than the average human being.

There is no statute of limitations on a crime like this in MN.

He might not be indicted until there are decent humans in the White House and DOJ.

I'm definitely more afraid of him than the people he's after. I hope there is another way besides winning the white house.

Except that...NONE of that is true. No open borders. The majority are not criminals.

You, on the other hand, are a deplorable liar and horrible POS. I wish we could send all the lying MAGA who are traitors to all this country stand for to El Salvador. Want to live in a dictatorship with Trump. Y'all can go to some island somewhere. What a wonderful world it would be. Hallelujah. Praise be. Send the demons away and keep hardworking immigrants after fixing the system to get them all registered and paying taxes. Hallelujah. Praise be.

He should run to Mexico and disappear while he can.

They’re not migrants, they’re illegals breaking US immigration laws by entering/staying in the country illegally. Some also have criminal backgrounds/proceedings.

Look at the stats.

There are people here legally being rounded up.
There are people who are natural born US citizens who are being rounded up.
Most of the people who are being apprehended have NO criminal history, none.

Just stop with the lies and gaslighting. Most of the American public is smart enough to understand what is happening, which is why polling shows just how out of touch and underwater this administration is.

What about the US citizen with no criminal record who was violently forced from his home in his underwear and held for hours in the cold? That just hunky dory?

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/us-citizen-ice-removed-minnesota-home-underwear-after-129372047

Or ICE holding three Native Americans (again US Citizens) and refusing to release them unless the tribe comes to some sort of agreement with them.

Quoting Noem without independent validation is the problem. She is elite in her lying and gaslighting.

Rather than just prosecuting the murderer. She was just moving the car as they wanted. I'm still just so angry this man hasn't been arrested for murdering someone and then having no remorse after.
