Any scuttlebutt on the 2012s? They may be the luckiest ones to benefit from a "new" team

This forum has also reported more Union players leaving than Brave players but I didn’t take this into account since Union is the weaker team.

Second, I looked at goal differential which puts Brave at 8th and Union at 10th.

Third, looking at the standings and goal differential numbers it looks like Arlington and Charlotte are the clear 1 and 2, followed by a pack of VDA, Courage, Richmond, and Beach (based on GD maybe Courage underperformed?) After that there seems to be a gulf to 7th place.

If I have overlooked some data please write in, but sentimential statement like “we hope for the best” or “stop trashing FVU” misses the point of my post which is really trying to be objective and data based. Not trying to offend anyone.

Did you apply this logic with very specific “data” to the other age groups? You combed through this 300+ page post and grabbed all the relevant “data” and applied this to each team?

Or perhaps a bone to pick with the 2011 team for obvious reasons? GD was the only actual data you used and even that is flawed when not factoring in injuries.

We were sold possession Dutch soccer. All we got was American kick ball. We knew this would never develop properly in the long run.

DB and CW didn't do the Union 2011s any favors over the last few years.

What coach/club would you say is properly developing at the older ages and to what end?

I feel like development depends on what the end goal is too. Is it college soccer or to become one of the best players in the world.

Vienna does focus on individual 1v1 skills at the younger ages more than most other clubs. So it does a good job of producing players/scorers that are comfortable with the ball at their feet. Other skill sets will be a bit behind other clubs because of it and it does result in a more direct style.

Isn’t this supposed to be about development in preparation for the recruiting years and not just playing the biggest and winning at u-littles?

At the older ages, how do Arlington teams look other than the 2011’s? And from the 2011 team, didn’t their top scorer come from Vienna just this past year?

Isn't the Arlington 2012G ECNL coach formerly from Mclean, and very popular? I heard she's a draw for top players.

Bigger picture: I wish clubs would pay attention to this dynamic, players will flock to your club if you have the right coaches.

She’s not a draw. None of the Arlington coaches are. Worst ecnl club in virginia now that brave is gone.

2009 Arlington - 4 wins
2009 Brave - 0 wins

2008 Arlington - 3 wins
2008 Brave - 8 wins

2007 Arlington - 3 wins
2007 Brave - 2 wins

Decide for yourself whether that is “Arlington beating Vienna like a drum”.

And yes, one of Arlington 2011’s top scorers came up through Vienna.
