Any scuttlebutt on the 2012s? They may be the luckiest ones to benefit from a "new" team
2012s drawing heavily from a strong Vienna team, followed by McLean, and a couple of strong players from BRYC. Team rounded out with players from outside of feeder clubs. Some good players chose other teams, that’s always going to happen. There will likely be growing pains as the team learns to play together but lots of potential.
Very strong punting Vienna team. This is why MV’s best player left. No development. Just defensive tactics.
We were sold possession Dutch soccer. All we got was American kick ball. We knew this would never develop properly in the long run.
What coach/club would you say is properly developing at the older ages and to what end? I feel like development depends on what the end goal is too. Is it college soccer or to become one of the best players in the world. Vienna does focus on individual 1v1 skills at the younger ages more than most other clubs. So it does a good job of producing players/scorers that are comfortable with the ball at their feet. Other skill sets will be a bit behind other clubs because of it and it does result in a more direct style.
