I'm surprised that ImYouthSoccer created an AI image of young girls for that post. It's really not necessary when the data is the story. This brings the credibility of IamYouthSoccer into question. Actually upon further review it looks like they are using AI to create a lot fake players/teams in their feed. I would not trust this source

More importantly, is there any reason to question his numbers?

You must not be able to read.

"Actually upon further review it looks like they are using AI to create a lot fake players/teams in their feed. I would not trust this source"

The post quotes numbers from GA’s own website about a declining number of schools year-over-year at GA showcases. Do you dispute them?

But also without noting a similar decline in the ECNL's showcases, if memory of this thread serves, correctly?

no. as the twitter link says, ECNL holds 8 events and the average in the last 3 years is 160 to 169 to 170 and the 170 will be higher once the playoffs start next week as there will be well over 200 d1 coaches there.

you are too lazy to actually go to the GA website and COUNT the number of colleges they show to see if the twitter account is right or wrong

So, does the GA number from the tweet also have a 3-year average? Seems like it was YoY and focused on a certain showcases where both leagues were actually down. This is why people complain about that account.

Iamsoccerdorks use of AI is documented. Theres no need to double check the data. The ECNL coach doesn't know if its right or wrong. The only thing he can confirm is that it was AI generated.

Imyouthsoccer’s ECNL bias is well known. The numbers were intentionally misleading by citing a 4 event average. The fact is GA’s playoff event this week has over 150 D1 colleges and more than 250 for all divisions which is the most GA has ever had at an event. But omitting the current event gives a different narrative.

This Iamyouthsoccer account is garbage,
You can’t do what he/she is doing and expect to be taken seriously. No journalistic integrity

He’s basically compiling his own numbers into an Excel spreadsheet, and then taking a screen grab. He’ll then use AI to create a photo of fake players in n attempt to support whatever narrative he is pushing. It’s idiotic to trust anything from that account. If you want to use data to support your argument, use an ECNL or GA post containing pertinent information, not some buffoon on X who is not beholden to any journalistic standards.

100% if there is some amazing data out there that makes one of the leagues look better, you can bet ECNL or GA will post about it. Neither league needs a shadow account for PR.

Nervous ECNL hats, listen up. The GA train is coming. More teams will join next year. You know why? U.S Soccer only recognizes GA and MLS Next and you just can’t beat that. ECNL hats are in the disbelief phase. Acceptance is next. Until then keep posting.

there are only 4 events during this season so far. my goodness you are bigly mad. GA only has one more event and that is the playoffs. you still haven't gone and counted the coaches from GA's website to confirm if he is correct.

GA Champions Cup - 138/128/117
GA Spring Showcase.- 118/96/57

Keep trying to make “fetch” happen.

Hydraulic pressure from the boys side may well mean more teams will join GA, but will they be Elite?

Adding more and more teams and that will help league finances for GA and MLSN, but will continue to dilute the product. Take NoVa. There are a lot of good players here, but enough to support seven+ “elite” teams?

ECNL at least has understood that maintaining a luxury brand requires restricting supply.

Instead of pummeling each other, both ECNL and GA should be glad they aren't the USYS when it comes to this stuff.
