I thought GY was happening? What about waivers for my repeater kid?
Oh, that's right nobody cares + I can play with my age group. But they're so good and I'm so terrible...
|
Not quite .. this could be ‘revisited’ in a couple years (Fall 26) is not the same as it ‘will be changed’ then. |

I think ECNL had big plans that were derailed after the meeting on the 22nd. ECNL has no authority. |
| Can’t wait for Lavers to spin this. When is next ECNL podcast? |
| I wish they could just universally allow waivers to fix the trapped year problem |
Never going to happen because parents would quickly start exploiting leagues and soccer would end up like basketball with repeaters held back 1-2x dominating of age players. |
| To be clear, US Soccer didn’t decide to delay the decision to 26/27, they decided they aren’t changing ages at all? Done? |

People wanted info. No word. Wanted a leak. Got a possible leak from a questionable source. People who heard what they wanted accept it. People who didn't hear what they want, question it.
In between lots of vitriol between Q4 parents vs. Non Q4. Good chance these people are on the same team or club and if spoke in person, might be friends or more friendly. Universal? Agreement that leadership at the organizations is chaotic at best and appear to be part of the reason US soccer isn't doing better. If the michighan report is true, people who like it, find it comical/absurd, those whi don't like it, find it shocking. |
No. Go reread it. They aren’t changing 25/26 but they’ll release a plan by the end of this year that details what happens for the following years. |
| All of the Sep 1 people can quiet down now while we wait for the end of the year decision. That MSYSA statement only says Aug 1 |
ECNL already has these! They just don’t use them! Want to know why? Because the 12th grade trap isn’t actually a thing. |
What communication were you expecting when there wasn't anything to communicate? Decision makers typically don't announce decisions that haven't actually been made. Hearing gossip here isn't the same or even on a podcast is not the same as decision makers actually planning to do something. |

I’m not believing anything until the age matrix webpage gets updated

Looks for real.
Some lady named Chris Elliott commented on the WSSL FB post saying that other leagues (CASL) in Michigan got the same email. If you look on the CASL website, Chris Elliott is listed as the Risk Manager. |
