You would be right if a 10 year old who plays club until age say 15 never got better at soccer. But you are not, as kids play soccer and get older, they get better at soccer as they age and play so if they are on the older side of an age grouping they are going to be relatively better than the younger group. There is a whole branch of research on this. Age groups do matter. Any research that says age groups don't matter?

You obviously don't understand how governing bodies work. ECNL can't do whatever it wants despite the nonsense on this thread. The fact that they haven't done anything should be proof of that. ECNL and all other leagues will follow whatever US Soccer decides. No league will make the change until then.

This was stated pretty regularly in pages 1-100, to no avail.

The committee of Q4-SY classic player parents with grievances agains ECNL talent ID routinely disregarded it, and shouted down everyone asking for more proof than their wild “change is happening, because my club’s janitor found a post-it note that confirmed it.”

Now that USSF has put a pause on the backroom BS ECNL was trying to pull (paused FOR GOOD REASON!!!!) - it’s the crazy SY parents asking for proof and patience….

2025 is going to be wild for this thread! This is the best thing that could have happened, Season 2 will be amazing.
