Other than a fresh peach.
Other banned ingredients are coconut and sesame. |

They contain milk. Should have said that I am thinking of Boom Chicka Pop Kettle Corn, but it's expensive. Ingredients are: Popcorn, Sunflower Oil, Dried Cane Sugar, Sea Salt.
I guess any kettle corn would fit the bill? Still interested in hearing about other treats that have been a success with kids. TIA. |

Grapes and bananas cut in half. Clementines.
Buy a bottle of Orville Reddenbacher and PPP it yourself in canola oil. |
| Cannot be fruit. Has to be something your typical school-aged child would consider a treat. Also must be individually packaged. |
| Lifesavers? Jelly beans? |

Make Rice Krispie treats with vegan margarine, milk problem solved.
Most candy will fall under the requirements you've laid out. Oatmeal cookies with vegan chocolate chips Or are you looking specifically for something to buy? How about fruit chews, marshmallows, potato chips, kettle corn, GF cookies, Popsicles, dairy free ice cream... |
Can you give everyone the whole list of requirements so we can stop guessing at suitable answers and then have you say "cannot...."? |

That's reasonable enough. I haven't really thought this through, as you can tell, but the responses are helping me narrow things down:
So: - must be something a typical school-aged child would reasonably consider a special treat - not fruit, not run-of-the-mill potato chips - must be individually packaged and store-bought so that parents can inspect the labels - cannot require refrigeration/freezing - prefer that it not be candy - a cookie/bar cookie would be ideal but perhaps that's not possible - recommendations for specific brands/products would be most helpful as in some cases most products are not nut-free, gluten-free, vegan but a few brands may be (e.g. fruit chews, marshmallows) Thanks for any ideas. |

Yummy earth makes vegan fruit snacks, they sell them at costco
Trader joes has individual bags of kettle corn |

There's a gluten-free oreo style cookie that WF sells. Not individually packaged, though.
Most marshmallows have gelatin, so not vegan, ftr. I'd go to a store with a decent gluten free section (Whole Foods or a health food store like Yes!) and then look for nut-free/vegan options. WF has an allergy-safe brownie pack for school treats (again, not individually wrapped, though). Annie's does GF bunnies, and I bet they meet your other criteria (check the label, though) -- not sure if they do them in individual packaging, though. You may find that candy is your best bet, though. |
| Thank you for the suggestions! |
| Rice Krispy treats have milk since when? Use earth balance or some vegan butter sub. |
| Oh nevermind. Just saw you said individually packaged. |
| Lindt round truffles, dark chocolate |
