It looks like she went very early on in her marriage to Majorca but Alec wasn't with her. She made 2 trips early on when Carmen was little to Madrid, no other trips that I can see since then so maybe about 5 years wince she has been in Spain. Very odd behaviour for someone who loves Spain so much and had the resources to go there at the drop of a hat.
Her father had a few pictures on Facebook of him with his 3 grandkids in February and October 2017 taken in New York.

Considering her very "deep Spanish roots" she has repeatedly talked having about since the make believe came down, and how "when she is in New York, she misses Spain" as Alec said, it is strange that they do not have a home in Spain, and have rarely gone there. Girl is loony toons

That makes it seem more like Alec was conned and she was avoiding going with him to Spain. I wonder when he found out the truth.

I don't think he had a clue in the beginning, I think he was convinced she was fully Spanish but maybe the truth started to sink in a little bit when they applied for their marriage licence and she had to divulge her place of birth and her parents place of birth. But I really think she continued the con by pretending her one of her Grandparents was Spanish. There is a clip of Alec in 2014 at a press conference in Spain talking about how she was born in Boston but spent half her childhood in Spain because her paternal Grandmother was Spanish. It wouldn't surprise me if he believed that right up to a few days ago and only found out she was lying along with the rest of the world.

I wonder if they have financial problems, why does she have to sell so much stuff and get sponsored on instagram for all those stupid products. Who the hell would get their miscarriage D&C sponsored? they must be desperate for money. All those kids and support staff must cost a fortune and Alec is a washed up actor who really hasn't done much except some bad ads on YouTube.

30 rock ended ages ago. I think the only movies he has done since then are the Boss Baby franchise? So that’s probably a few million. But their expenses must be astronomical: 5 nannies, private preschools, expensive homes with outrageous taxes. I have no doubt they only buy the most expensive version of everything.

I feel really bad for him despite his lashing out. It seems like he really did believe her initially and I don’t blame him- why would someone lie about something this stupid? Why would someone fake an accent for over a decade? She told him she spent her childhood between Boston and Spain and that seems completely plausible. She’s humiliated him.

Since she literally had IVF, the "fertility" burn is really odd. It would suggest otherwise.

Anyone who has been in any relationship with a narcissist knows this well, when the fabrication they sold you on falls apart. It can take years to recover from realizing it was all fake, they are really masters at recreating what you desire to get what they want. They up the abuse if what they want is threatened, case in point her reactions to being outed. Everyone's talking about what a "victim" innocent Hillary is, but wouldn't wish this experience on anyone even Alec.

I remembering thinking it was odd that they never went anywhere, let alone Spain. For the most part, all they ever did were trips to LA during awards season. I assumed it was because the kids were little, on set schedules, and they’d have to bring a zillion nannies. But to talk about how much you love Spain, how it is “home,” and go maybe once in 8-10 years is weird. Isn’t it easier to bring a few kids to Spain than expect your 40 family members or “chosen family” or whatever they are to travel to the States? Oh wait, that’s right, they don’t exist.

I may be totally going down a sort of ridiculous self-doubt rabbit hole about something that doesn't actually apply to my situation and creating an internal struggle for myself for no reason, but that is what this Hilary/Hilaria fraudulent mess has done to me personally so just wanted to get that off my chest. I'm riveted by it all and cannot fathom why anyone soyld do what she has done, but damn it is uncomfy

The issue is that here in the US certain nationalities and cultures are valued more than others, and that varies from region to region. We have become a nation of undulating trends and fads regarding cultures. We have no tangible culture here anymore, we did probably about 40 years ago, but that has almost vanished. So, as a result, some people pick and choose which cultures they want to adopt, even if that culture isn’t the “theirs” in order to fit into or attract a certain group or demographic. Hilaria is not the only person guilty of this. I see it happening on smaller scales everywhere. I think we have marginalized people to such an extremes, now everyone must fit into a certain box. That isn’t how it used to be. Everyone is trying so hard to fit in with some group, whether it’s a cultural/ethnic group, religious group, sexual orientation group, animal rights group, etc. its become really absurd, and frankly I am not surprised at all that someone would pretend to be something other than who they are. It’s happening everywhere.

Yeah that is certainly a very interesting point and a lot to unpack. I wonder what benefits and/ramifications must flow from that.

Well said, people don't understand what narcissists are truly capable of unless you have been in a relationship with one or have a parent who's one like my mother. If my mother had the opportunity she would do what Hilaria did in a heartbeat, without a thought or care about the consequences. Narcs lie like normal people breath, they gaslight and isolate their victims. They are the most charming people in the world when they want something, it's like being in a mini cult where they are the powerful leader. I'm not a fan of Alec but I do feel sorry for him because I truly believe he had no idea of how much she had lied to him until this whole thing blew up. I don't think he wants to believe the truth about her at the moment and wants to blame everyone else for misrepresenting her but you know deep down inside the truth will be seeping in. It takes a lot to stop believing in someone who has so much power over you.

"Identity politics" and the media are big drivers of this, and a middle age America demographic that truly believe and emulate everything they read to fit in. Whatever they're told by the media/social media/etc. is what they do. There is plenty of culture in America. Tons of it, tons of people who have it, live it, identify by it. But the yahoos who are thirsty for attention and the spotlight, they shape and form to whatever will feed their need for attention and validation, their perception of the "ideal." It's truly a tiny, tiny percentage of America, it just seems huge because it's the same percentage that is so starved it has to be loud and everywhere to get fed what it needs. Most of the population are NOT this way, and it's really a specific age demographic, mostly. Sad, but irrelevant. They're only shaping culture and perception because some think they're relevant. The rest are like who are these lunatics, ala Hillary.

Wonderful analysis. The thing that is different from you and this imposter, though, is that she sought high visibility publicity and is mostly all about appearances. My assumption, based on your thoughtful post, is that you have an entire, full life without having to seek validation for your physical appearance. Which brings me to my second point -- her fake identity is an accessory to the main object, her body. She's objectified herself -- and her children -- in a grotesque way. She's sexualized her maternal experience making it a fetish. I guess that's my third point. She combined the Madonna and the whore into her appearance and identity. So, if she's done damage to any immigrants, I'd be angry if I were from a Latin or South American country because she is hyper sexualizing the Spanish speaking women. But, so did/does Sofia Vergara.

So, for the most part, I do not think you would ever be confused with Hillary Thomas Hayward Baldwin by identifying yourself as an immigrant or a refugee. She's

Thank you for this response, it truly lightened by emotional weight about it. I think she was originally intending to show that yes, it is possible and awesome to be a mom while also being sexy and that just because you are a mom it does not render you sexless not diminish your ability to straddle the worlds of "madonna and whore" so i really do get that, but I think the difference is she went so far in trying to attain that and it became a little nauseating. I both feel bad for saying so and also vindicated in feeling it is a little much, so idk I'm very conflicted about a lot lol thank you so much DCUM for being so nice to me

Nobody who hasn't been a victim of a narcissist knows how it feels to have another person say they understand how it is <3 It is sickening, twisted, horrifying to be in any engagement with one of them. The problem with Hillary is like all narcissists (and believe me, you know one when you see one no degree required after having one in your life) she will go to any/all extreme to keep that fulfillment she wants/needs, as she already has. It takes a lot of strength on many levels to deal with it. I could not imagine going through that as a child as you have. When you find out the real reality with a narcissist, it is like the death of a dream. There is definitely an initial disbelief, denial, excusing behaviors, trying to understand, until the one day there isn't any way to do it anymore and you realize the reality. My heart goes to you surviving one as a kid!!!
