She delayed the proceedings for 98 days. Mission accomplished. |
JFC... and Mar A Lago was full of spies. Chinese - https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/chinese-woman-arrested-mar-lago-had-device-detect-hidden-cameras-n992301 And Russian - https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2022/8/26/2119000/-Likely-Russian-Spy-Posing-as-a-Rothschild-Heir-was-Frequent-Mar-A-Lago-Guest And probably more that we don't even know about. |
Was Trump going to sell "a peek" of classified documents to the Chinese--not for money but a coup d'etat to put him back in the WH? Sounds like a bad espionage novel but truth s stranger than fiction. |
“On the eve of Donald Trump’s last day in office as President, Trump sent a memo to his attorney general, and also the directors of National Intelligence and the CIA, directing them to declassify thousands of pages of highly classified government papers pertaining to the FBI’s investigation into the Russian Federation’s covert intervention into the 2016 US presidential election to help elect Trump and defeat Hillary Clinton.
But Trump was stymied in his efforts to make the records public, leading the outgoing president to rage to aides that the documents would never see the light of day. Now, sources close to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation tell me that prosecutors have questioned at least three people about whether Trump’s frustrations may have been a motive in Trump taking thousands of pages of classified papers from the White House to Mar-A-Largo, in potential violation of federal law. One of those people was compelled to testify before a federal grand jury, the sources say. The sources say that prosecutors appear to believe the episode may be central to determining Trump’s intent for his unauthorized removal from the White House of the papers. Insight into the president’s frame of mind—his intent and motivation, are likely to be the foundational building blocks of any case that the special counsel considers seeking against Trump.” https://murraywaas.substack.com/p/exclusive-special-counsel-has-questioned |
No matter who they are, it is wildly unacceptable and seriously criminal for politicians to mis-handle classified documents.
Any politician who does this must be removed from office and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No exceptions. |
Lol sure. |
Not really. There's a rather important issue of intent that needs to be established in order to make it a criminal violation. Accidentally misplacing classified documents is bad, but it is not a crime. Intentionally taking them and then refusing to give them back when requested is a crime (actually multiple crimes). |
OK MAGA/Republicans your boy's lawyers are not happy campers tonight.
Lawyers conversations with their clients that fall within the legal relationship are protected by the attorney client privilege. Testimony about them can't be subpoenaed. So this sends a very interesting message. Trump lawyer Evan Corcoran was recently subpoenaed to testify before the federal grand jury in Washington hearing evidence about the Trump docs case Corcoran takes 5th -> SC Smith gets an immunity order -> Corcoran asserts atty/client privilege re: confidential communications w/Trump (i.e., Did Trump know about you're telling Bobb to sign the false declaration?) -> Crime-fraud exception to atty/client ... |
