The actress that played Paula was on Good Day Dc today and the person interviewing her said that she didn't really like her character. She laughed and said - yeah, my mom wasn't really happy with her decisions either.

She seemed really sweet. She said she doesen't have any upcoming projects but is open and excited to see what characters she can bring to life next.

The thing that is not ringing true to me is the relationship between the newlyweds - Rachel and whatever the douchey husband's name is. It's like they don't even know each other. it's weird.

In the scene by the pool where she’s talking to the disdainful younger girls, she tells them that they got married quickly, essentially because “Shane knows what he wants” (paraphrasing). They sarcastically suggest that he pay off her large student loans, and she pretends that she hadn’t thought of that. When it’s clear that they are mocking her, she ends the conversation and strips down to her bikini in front of them in a clearly deliberately sexy way, and it has the desired effect (jealousy).

I thought that scene revealed a lot about their relationship. Rachel may be sweet and naive in some ways, but she married him for money and knows that he married her for looks without many deeper issues being explored. That becomes a problem for her quickly, but not him.

I didn’t really think there was much for the girls to be envious of. Rachel wasn’t enough of a bombshell to carry it off.

Rachel has a really pretty face and big boobs and a skinny body. Girls like her can be found all over the McLean/Great Falls corridors being SAHMs to their rich husbands.

And…? So she’s dime a dozen, nothing to make a couple of college girls sit up and notice. Olivia’s tits are bigger.

She got the desired reaction from Olivia.

Wow. Surprised she doesn’t have more acting roles lined up. I thought she did a great job. Plus she’s gorgeous.

That whole scene rang false to me, primarily because why would an adult woman be repeatedly trying to engage high school girls who are clearly disinterested in a conversation in the first place?

I think she was angling for an introduction to the mom. It didn’t pan out, so she had to approach her cold later on.

Following up, Olivia and Paula are in college.

She's from Virginia and her mom is on the Arlington School board.

Didn’t seem believable. They should have cast someone else as Rachel, then. I was honestly confused at first about the reaction because it seemed so unlikely.

Are you joking? There are probably five women in all of the DMV who are as pretty and hot as Rachel. She is incredibly beautiful and thin. I have only met one woman as pretty as she is the entire time I’ve lived in DC

For next season, Mike White should definitely run his casting choices by you! Lol.

If she had been too much of an obvious bombshell, the rest of the character wouldn’t have worked. There had to be just enough insecurity there for her to care about her career that much, or to have been swept away by Shane in the first place.

Lol expand your horizons. I’m frankly laughing at this. That you would think two college girls envy the broomstick thin body of an “older” woman.
