Is Matt Gaetz the next in a long line of prominent republicans to be convicted of child sex abuse?

This guy is pleading guilty to 67 years in prison, but is banking on a cooperation agreement to get out in like 12 years.

If I were in the Florida GOP and had any association with this (there are multiple, apparently) - I would be spending the weekend getting my affairs in order.

Can someone explain what this means for Gaetz?

A 5K letter is a motion that prosecutors can make to reduce a defendant's sentence if he provides substantial assistance to the prosecutors in another investigation. Prosecutors are stingy with these. His plea agreement says prosecutors will consider one for him. The obvious person he'll be cooperating against is Gaetz.

Hum, Gaetz is small fry next to Roger Stone who Greenberg was trying worl with the secure a pardon. Stone can’t be pardoned anymore. I think Fed’s want him. Who canes about Gaetz.

Yes, there was a lot of local press coverage of what Greenberg was doing and it boggles the mind that there were no state or local charges before the feds got involved.

Now, I seem to remember something about GQP people getting terribly upset about Andrew Gillum getting busted with drugs and an escort in a hotel room and practically calling for the guy’s head on a pike. I wonder at what level of detail they’ll call for Gaetz’s head? Or maybe it’s just that Gillum is Black? Or maybe the escort needs to be a man, too? I dunno. At least one of the women who was paid for sex was 17. Joel “Queen for a day” Greenberg already pled guilty to this. He’ll fill the feds in shortly if he hasn’t already.
