Is Matt Gaetz the next in a long line of prominent republicans to be convicted of child sex abuse?

So… Gaetz is a literal pimp? Am I reading that right?

I’m no expert but I think that makes Greenberg (who’s already in prison) the pimp and Gaetz the client.

Either way, if Gaetz had sex with underage minors, then that is problematic.

The House GOP will no longer get rid of anyone. They are mo as ning that they should have kept Santos.

Most of the House GOP HATES Gaetz, DeSantis would schedule a very prompt special election, and his seat is not going to flip. I still wouldn’t be surprised if they did it.

Santos did nothing for the GOP except give everyone a great reason to bash them over and over. Good riddance to that loser.

They need his vote which Trump's their hatred. McCarthy could pull some strings and do damage.

+1 The Santos situation continuing had an affect on the other Republican freshmen in New York whose elections were crucial to flipping the House. They were hearing about him constantly from constituents so they needed him gone.

So potentially down to 1?

Down to 1? Who else had sex with her at these “druggy orgies”?

Also put me down in team “I thought Madison Cawthorn was just being a baby and didn’t think he was serious about the orgies.”

I think the “down to one” refers to the GOP majority in the House.

Oh no sorry, I got that, I know that pp meant that these developments potentially put the GOP majority down to one, what I meant was that if there are more GOP critters who attended these orgies and had sex with trafficked, underaged girls, that might mean the GOP wouldn’t have a majority at all.

Though that assumes a world in which the Republican Party would do the right thing and that’s no guarantee at all.

This only matters if cable news/Sunday broadcast hosts ask every GOP elected/party official "do you stand with Matt Gaetz?" and continue to remind them that is a Y/N question.

If the press doesn't hold accountable, then this is a nothingburger in terms of consequences for Gaetz and the public.

Got it, and thanks for reminding me of that Madison Cawthorn stuff. Worth remembering in this context also, from a reporter at Puck News yesterday:

You and I both know that the media is complicit (and there’s a non-zero chance that some of them have been involved in these alleged orgies) and will never ask these questions of Republicans.
