I think an actor, who many view as talented, is different from an "influencer"-type celebrity where it's all based on likeability/relatability. |
People are far less tolerant these days. Mel was lucky his mishaps happened in another era. |
Exactly. |
His career has never really recovered. |
Mel is/was a genius with over $6 BILLION on global box office receipts. Chrissy is a talentless demon married to a washed up crooner whose career was resurrected by a reality talent show. |
| Allison Roman is laughing somewhere. |
Mel also paid his way back by financing his movies, not even sure how many there have been now, 2? |
+1 Haven't seen him in anything in years and he was A++ranked before his downfall. |
This is bad - he still has her DMs to back up his account. Given all she’s done, I hope she remains cancelled. Her influence is not needed. |
I think the way you feel about this may really depend on your own past behavior. I have had people say terrible things to and about me. I have certainly not been a saint, but I've never said anything this nasty to anyone, ever. My "mean girl" behavior was limited to stuff like telling a mutual friend that I didn't like someone -- stirring unnecessary drama before I learned to be more discrete and also understood that it doesn't matter if I like someone. But I've never just randomly singled out someone less popular and powerful than I am and tried to make them miserable. That's not "oops, well we all make mistakes when we're young" behavior. It's just straight up bullying. If you were a bully, maybe shrugging your shoulders at Teigan's behavior makes you feel a little better about your own. Maybe you'd feel like a hypocrite for thinking less of her, if you've done similar. But that's exactly WHY we should hold Teigan accountable. This behavior is not okay. It's not a little mistake and it's not something everyone does. It's not something that was okay in 2010 and not okay now. It's bullying. It's cruel. It's someone in a position of power using (and abusing) that power over someone with less power. If that seems like something "everyone" does when they are young, then maybe you should look at your own privilege and ask how you wound up in a position to abuse that privilege to hurt people when you were younger. |
He may not be the leading man but he's been busy. This is veering off topic but he was nominated for an Oscar as recently as 2016. "In 2016, Mel Gibson received a 10-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival where he premiered “Hacksaw Ridge,” which, propelled by a rapturous reception in Italy, went on to receive six Oscar nominations. That included a nod for Gibson for best director. The World War II drama was the first film Gibson had directed in more than a decade." https://variety.com/2020/film/news/mel-gibson-controversies-career-1234696080/ |
Good grief. This is not simply mean girl behavior. This psycho has now gotten caught telling two separate people to kill themselves or die—well past the age where she should have known better. What kind of person goes around saying that to multiple people? There is something seriously wrong with her. |
This site is full of people who saw truly vicious things (anonymously) I actually can give some leeway to things that happened 10 years ago, because I remember what online was like back then, but it’s not surprising some people here don’t think it’s a big deal. |
