I can't believe the parent is telling people about it, essentially bragging about getting money for their kid. Nothing at Spirit deserves that. The best players are decent, but there are no super stud talents. And by taking that money, they are taking it from poor families that may need it. |

I believe that at the DA and ECNL level a club should be able to give a talented player who otherwise doesn’t need financial aid a waiver or discount in the normal fee structure. Why not? At the same time they can also give out aid to a qualified player in financial need. It is their club, they can do whatever they want. Especially DCU and WS as they are tied to professional teams. The pro European teams do this, so why not here?
At the DA and ECNL levels it is about both winning and development and positive brand recognition by the three primary customers: players, college coaches, and youth NT scouts/coaches. If the business thinks it can accomplish this by cutting fees / giving aid and staying in business, then that is their call. Playing elite level soccer is not a right, it is a privilege. Most have to pay, some don’t. Those that don’t are probably the best at least in the minds of those offering the aid. If you don’t get it for free and don’t want to play, then play normal travel and/or high school ball, but don’t begrudge the players that get it and clubs that provide it. |
Poor families that need it? So you ASSUME that the family on scholarship is rich, selfish, and doesnt need or deserve it. Please tell us all how you came up with that. |

What does the three below have in common?
The GDA The ECNL THE Government Answer: They operate with the funds giving to them by individuals. THEY dont give you anything. WE, the providers of the money, carry the burden of providing others with the opportunity. None of this exist without the paying customer. |
Someone else suggested they got it not for financial need. If they DO have financial issues, then they are as entitled to anyone else. If not, then yes to all you said. |
| Is May 12th the only ID session they are running? |
That will be their 3rd ID session this spring (other two were already held), so probably yes. |
If you are interested just email Tom and come to a practice. |
Nobody is interested. |

| You two never answered the question on how much they are paying you to continuously troll Spirit. Because if you are spending all this time here doing it for free, you are sick, sick puppies. |
You want the real answer? How about you make a gosh dang call or send a gosh darn email to whomever you dang well please. +1 +2 +3 |
