Are you talking about the Kingsbury lawsuit? Because that’s unrelated. |
|
There have been three lawsuits so far that I am aware of:
1. The first one that this thread was initially about, for 2 families, filed in Fed Court 2. 2nd one, filed in Superior Court, with 6 families 3. 3rd filed just last week in Superior Court with 1 family |
No, there was a third sexual assault filed last week on 11/20 |
What makes the first one 'major' over the other 2? |
how do you know settled? |
The board sent an email out to the school letting us know. No details were disclosed. |
First ones were the easiest case for the plaintiffs. Teacher pled guilty to molesting all of those children. The other lawsuits do not have a guilty plea supporting the allegations. |
What do you mean by "first ones" and "other ones" when there are 3? The one that settled last month is the one with 6. |
| The one with 6 does not appear to be settled, DC court site still lists the case as 'Open' |
Right, but the parties have come to a signed agreement in mediation and it just needs to go through the final procedures. |
Then it would be smart for the school to not announce there's a deal until it is finalized. |
| Maybe it wasn't the case of 6 the school sent the letter about |
| does the school letter indicate which lawsuit they settled? |
The email refers to the federal action. The federal action alleges civil rights violations and is being asserted by the parents of two of the children. |
