Who did you think killed JonBenet?

He had seen enough loss in his life at that time, would he really have wanted his wife to go to jail? As crazy as it sounds..

I've read elsewhere that the skull fracture would have eventually been fatal w/o medical attention...meaning, that there was a possibility that she could have been saved if she had been rushed to the hospital right away.

This is exactly my hang up with the whole "Burke did it" theory. If he did and the parents found out, why on Earth would they go about this convoluted cover up rather than immediately seek medical attention for their daughter? Think about it- if your son got pissed and attacked his little sister and you found her unconscious (possibly even thought he killed her), what's the first thing you would do? I'd call 9-1-1. I wouldn't throw my hands up and think "well, she's already a goner. I better cover this up to protect my other kid." No way. Especially not Jon Benet, Patsy's most prized possession.

Either Patsy did it by accident out of anger for wetting the bed or an intruder did it.

An intruder did not do it, because Patsy had to have written that note. I agree with you, though, it had to have been Patsy. But - why would John cover for her?

I think that he woke up to a nightmare, is not a stupid man, figured out how to salvage what he could of his life and that was that. At some point he decided that what was done was done and adding to it with criminal charges was not going to help his family.

I have no idea where I read this--apologies if it was on here--but someone theorized that Patsy had intended to to get rid of the body, but then John woke up and so she had to call 911 before she was ready. Obviously if this is the case at some point he would have had to realize she was guilty.

I think this makes more sense than ANY other theory.

I agree. What a horror.

Or could it have been Burke who woke up before Patsy and John had relocated the body? That would explain why they were heard talking to him on the 911 call. Maybe they knew a child wouldn't be able to keep quiet?

Do you see Patsy striking JB with a flashlight or baseball bat or golf club? That's the part I cannot see about this theory. A brother is more likely to do this than a mother I think. Now if the head injury had come from something like JB being smacked and subsequently falling down stairs, I could see how that might've involved Patsy.

It wasn't the brother. It was a photographer who used to take the pageant photos. I thought everyone knew that by now.

Also, the garrote was homemade, and my guess is only a man with military knowledge like John would be able to do that. If anything, the Beth Holloway relationship was probably him ingratiating himself intentionally with another victim so he can look like a good guy/innocent parent. Do you think he would be crazy enough to tell her? Of course not. I think Patsy was the only one who knew but she did nothing because she did not want Burke to be alone if his father was imprisoned and she died of cancer. Patsy died from the guilt and the horror of realizing she married a monster. She should have at least reported the molestation. She had to know because she took JB to the pediatrician lots of times for vaginal issues.

Actually all of the investigators on the matter thought either patsy or Burke could have delivered the blow. It's possible with a heavy weapon to inflict that kind of blow even if you're a woman or an almost 10 year old. It's like swinging a baseball bat. Momentum. It's entirely possible that patsy or Burke hit her.

But they suspect that the weapon used was a flashlight. I have a hard time picturing a 9 year old boy swinging a flashlight hard enough to inflict this kind of damage. It's too short a weapon to get the kind of momentum needed to inflict this injury.

I have a hard time imagining a mother crashing a flashlight down hard enough to crack her own child's skull. Ditto the father.

That would have to be a purposeful, direct and powerful blow. And if it happened in the kitchen I would think that the whole house would have heard it.

The flashlight that the investigators found in the kitchen isn't your average flashlight. It was a long-handled MAG light. Made of steel or aluminum - very heavy. I do believe Burke hit JB with the flashlight as she was sitting there, eating her pineapple. The second investigator on Reddit (the one who wrote, "Foreign Faction") also implied that Burke's toy trains were used in the cover-up / staging. Whether she was sexually assaulted with the toy trains () or just physically assaulted, he points to the trains as one primary reason that Burke was never ruled out.

When I google "long handled MAG light" the flashlights that pop up all seem to weigh around 1 pound. Anyone have any idea how much the Ramsey flashlight weighed?
one pound w/o the half dozen D batteries which add another pound or so. Those flashlights are badasses. I can't imagine a scrawny kid being able to swing it with the necessary momentum. I really am not sure if I could either and I played high school softball. That blow was caused by someone who knew what they were doing and did it purposefully.

People keep saying how hard this blow must have been but it didn't break the skin and there was no blood! It could not have been a baseball-bat-like swing, because there would have been blood and more of an injury showing. No?
Anonymous
Not necessarily. If it was a blunt object on the round part of the skull with nothing sharp to pierce the skin, couldn't that cause an inward injury without blood? I thought a piece of bone broke off and went into the brain internally?

How does this theory account for the ransom note written by Patsy?

And how could you think "everyone knew that by now" when Dr. Phil and CBS are about to air shows about this 20-year old unsolved mystery.

It was a sick, twisted peodophile intruder who hung out at the Ramsey house for hours before the murder because he was obsessed with them and Jon Benet. Probably the Santa, his creepy wife, or someone from their local pedophile ring.

Again you're not accounting for the ransom note almost certainly written by Patsy.
