That's a crazy soup you're mixing tho ether in your hateful mind.

Jeff Davis & Condaleeza Rice are not really on the same side of any coherent argument. And how do transgender people figure in? Do you want to enslave them or waterboard them and mean old liberals wont let you? You need to look up the definition of freedom. It doesn't mean you get to oppress other people. It means the opposite. No one is enslaving you or making you gay. Just learn how to be a civilized person and all of your butthurt will go away.

And again, people wonder how Hitler came to power?

"First they came for the Mexicans but I did not speak out because I'm not Mexican. Then they came for the Muslims but I did not speak out because I'm not Muslim. Then they came for the LGBT but I did not speak out because I'm not LGBT."

Sound familiar? And it's EXACTLY the tone we are hearing right now from the Trump supporters.

Except....it's Christians that are getting the beat-down. Again, can you point to me the fines and legislative process against the Muslim bakers that refused to bake a cake for a gay wedding? I can easily point you to incidences of backlash against Christians. In addition, I see you did not mention Jews. Given there are more hate crimes perpetuated against Jews in the US than Muslims or gay individuals, I wonder why you left them out, especially while invoking the name of a man who committed genocide against the Jews.

Donja just hate when the Christian majority is being held down by THE MAN! Do you people ever listen to the crap you spew?

I hate when the government oppresses any group. The Muslim businesses should be held to the same standards as the christian ones, don't you think?

No one ever said that non-discrimination laws apply only to Christian businesses. That is the point - it is just a bakery, it isn't a church. All bakeries should treat all customers fairly. The reason you know about the Christian businesses that were sued for discriminating is because they immediately went to Fox News and right wing websites and started GoFundMe campaigns to cash in on their martyrdom.

You hav nothing to cash in on if you aren't being fined, threatened, etc.

Were the Muslim bakers subjected to the same treatment?

Don't like anything that can be construed as "PC" and use words like transvestite? You are the consummate Trump voter. I don't think you be
convinced of anything.

thank fuck these are precisely the people who are losing life expectancy, as shown by the deaton paper.

NP here - I grew up in small town Pennsylvania and can confirm 100% that the support for Trump comes from small-mindedness, lack of vision, most people never went beyond high school and their interests are mainly just limited to sports and hunting, their world view mainly just comes from TV and movies.

If the people you're describing are hard-working, honest, and doing their best to take care of their families, your criticism of them reflects poorly on you, despite our "open-mindedness and vision."
I was getting ready to type the same thing when I saw your post. Bravo! Damn, I hate this area and the people in it.

this area has become inundated with liberal transplants who think they know everything! this coming from a native North Arlingtonian, born and raised in Georgetown and North Arlington, family from south america, and an independent leaning more to the right, not a democrat.

Time and changing demographics are a bitch.

My son-in-law - graduate degree from an Ivy and well employed - says he is going to vote for Trump. He is an independent who leans right though he voted for Obama in 2008. Their HHI approximates $750K.

If someone like my SIL is drawn to Trump I'd say that there are likely a lot of others who may end up voting for him. OTOH, my daughter will not vote for him but she is decidedly liberal. She is voting for Sanders and does not like Hillary.

Yeah, it did a number on the dinosaurs. Got us out of the Stone Age, too. Conservatives are about the status quo, they hate change, they hate progress.

You clearly have no idea what the term "oppresses" means.

There's one guy in our apartment building who drives a truck covered with Trump stickers, among other Republican slogans. He always wears military fatigues, his balcony is decorated for Christmas with a huge cross made out of lights and his girlfriend, who, I believe, came from his hometown somewhere in Kentucky to visit for the holidays, spends her entire days smoking on said balcony wearing ugly flannel pajamas.

Hope this answers your question, OP!

Who is the "you" here? Are you against the Christian majority? I'm not sure who you are ranting against here.

Not the person you are responding to but I take it as a sarcastic comment directed at the people who yammer about such idiocies as the "War on Christmas" and who don't understand that America was founded as a secular nation with a separation of church and state.

Always wears military fatigues but probably never served and who would be the first one trying to dodge the draft if it were reinstated.

Do you prefer the word "pervert"?

Were the Muslim bakers subjected to the same treatment?

I said all bakers should treat all customers fairly. How hard is that to understand.

Right, bakers should have a policy of baking or not baking gay-themed cakes for all customers, regardless of the customers' sexual orientation. I.e., if they choose not to, the. Both straight and gay couples would be free to buy a heterosexual normal wedding cake.

+1

Many of us just want competence in the presidency. If Jeff Bezo or Larry Ellison is running, I would vote for them over Hillary too. Trump is a center-right candidate, which also helps drawing educated voters.
