This +1000 They vote for Trump just to spite those who ask "Why are you voting against your own economic self interest?" Spite is a powerful force among working class conservatives. |
My uncle told me he was a trump supporter. I could barely process it but his reasoning was "he's an excellent business man and the country is a business" |
which is the fundamental misunderstanding right there |
My neighbor has a Trump sticker on their car. He's also a fat, shirtless ogre with a mail-order Russian bride half his age. |
Go to parts of NE and SE; tell me if it it's still easy to pretend everyone is doing well. Even here. Rural America - where I'm from - would do about a bazillion times better if they quit electing Republican morons because they say Jesus. Jesus wants you to have guns! Jesus hates abortion! Jesus hates Muslims and Jews, but not so much the Jews 'cause we need them for End Times! Republicans never want to punish the businesses who pay bottom dollar to immigrants of questionable status. Guess what would stop people from seeking better paying jobs here? Republican policies are uniformly crap for workers. |
That poor woman. |
I only know three people who support Trump--a middle age, republican, Latina woman who immigrated to the US 40 years ago and three moderate democrats who reportedly have never voted republican--family members so I believe this to be true (2 women 30's and 1 man early 40's). I have a couple of friends who are independents who are considering voting for him. I am a conservative woman who finds no one running on either side that I could cast a ballot for at this point. It is pitiful that out of our country the dems could only come up with an old white, socialist, a old white, untrustworthy woman who would be pilloried for her record if she were on the republican ticket, and the republicans are leading with a crazy narcissist, a wacko AA, and a bunch of unremarkable white men. Seriously, America. Can't we do better than this? |
Seriously? Democratic costly over-regulation is driving business overseas. |
Nicely said. Also summed up here: http://m.imgur.com/gallery/gGjMGGg |
I bet my idiot BIL is supporting trump. He also is 40+ living under his parents' roof with his 2 illegitimate children he had with a way too young baby momma who proved herself to be nothing but a tramp. He bitches about his taxes while collecting food stamps and medicaid and I know he gets sizable tax refund every year just because he couldn't keep his probably diseased dick in his pants (so, basically he gets more money from the system than he paid because they popped out some kids) |
My own experience is that there are a lot of Trump supporters and they cross party lines. But many are unwilling to come out openly and say they support him. But they speak with grudging admiration of his strength, business acumen, etc.
These people are not racists, they are not ignorant uneducated people, etc but they are fed up with the both parties and how they say one thing to get elected but then do something else when they are in office. Trump speaks to their aspirations, fears and hopes. These are people who are opposed to illegal immigration, granting amnesty to illegals, they despise political correctness, they think everything is out of control when it comes to dealing with Islamic inspired terrorism - even if it is a perversion. If he ends up the nominee, it will not surprise me if many of these people vote for him. |
Yes you can. A lot worse. |
This made me chuckle. It probably shouldn't have, but it did. |
Hillary is one of the most terrible candidates and exactly what people are sick of. I think that is a major driver. |
That is exactly what Trump will do because his "proposals" are completely insane and not even legal. how can he actually follow through?? If people believe he will, then they are just stupid |
