$100k fee for h1-b visas coming

She says they’re going to force employers to post job openings to the American public before hiring H-1Bs.

imagine that, requiring US companies to search for US workers before hiring cheap temporary foreign labor, why is this controversial?

It’s not controversial; it’s literally already the law.

All of this is good news. H1b is so full of fraud, and yet DHS has put so many obstacles in the way of consular officers refusing H1bs they know are BS.

Only 175 investigations? It should be thousands upon thousands of investigations.

DP. America has no shortage of brains. We merely have a shortage of people willing to work like slaves for 60k.

This is the main point.

What a nonsense comment. Simply not true. But oh so pat to state H1B are "hard workers" but Americans are not.

Those H1B high tech workers are not earning $60K, by the way. They're earning $200K.

DP. Show us the data.
DP. They are not; I know what they earn, and it is less than what American citizens earn. Please don't talk about what you don't know. Very, very few H1Bs earn that kind of money.

Do you know what Citizens United is?

A case where the government argued it had the power to ban books, and the Supreme Court said no you don't.

That's right.. deflect cause you can't argue the fact that Citizens United fought to allow corporations from unlimited political contributions, and the conservative SCOTUS agreed.

There's your answer why politicians are doing the bidding of corporations like Amazon.

“US Citizens Need not Apply"

Indian-owned h1b shops refuse to hire US citizens, but get preferential access to federal contracts since they're minority-owned.

Absolutely false. Maybe a tiny fraction of them, living in the Bay Area, earn $200K. Most of them make 1/3 of that at most.

Trump for H1Bs

"I’ve always liked the visas, I have always been in favor of the visas. That’s why we have them," Trump told the New York Post Saturday.

Trump said that he recognizes the visas on his properties, saying, "I've been a believer in H-1B. I have used it many times. It’s a great program."

Indian H-1B visa holders who traveled back to India this month to renew their American work permits are now stranded after their appointments were abruptly canceled and rescheduled for months later, according to immigration lawyers.

Look at comments in WAPO. No one supports h1bs anymore. Indians have killed the golden goose

Need to get rid of this loophole:

If their employer agrees, many H-1B workers just work remotely from abroad until the visa is issued. This is legally permissible as long as U.S. payroll compliance is maintained, and tax considerations are understood.

Easy fix. They just work offshore permanently, and we lose the tax revenue.

And MCPS doesn't have to build schools for their children like the one in Wootton. Immigrants are a net suck on local economies.
