| The time I rode my bike into Georgetown with my girlfriend in 8th grade from Bethesda along the toe path. No real purpose in mind, just stopping in the shops that looked interesting. We stopped in a store named the Pleasure Chest. I could only blush but my girlfriend did not want to leave for an hour. Should have married her. |
| I dont know if anyone mentioned this but the CINEMA DRAFT HOUSE! Where the I think Whitley (spelling?) apartments are now. That place had the BEST root beer floats and nachos. I think there is one in Arlington but you can smoke in it and its gross. |
| Buying chemicals from Lowen's Toy Store - they had it all. I used to buy the ingredients for gun powder and then had a blast formulating different recipes and testing them in the field behind Whitter Woods. Amazing I can still count to ten and see all my fingers. |
I'm the OP, and I worked at Pike Theater for 3 weeks after I dropped out of college. I must have watched the original Superman 150 times. I was not happy working there. I worked the daytime shift and they made me ask 5 year olds "Would you like a Large Popcorn and a large soda with that?" Ug. I ended up much happier working at Regional Office Supply in Bethesda, also gone. They had a nice little art department in the back, not as big or nice as Lowens, but nice enough. |
Does anyone remember The Cellar and the David Lee Roth look-a-like that was a bartender there? |
Oh my god, The Cellar... what a meat market that place was. I brought home a one night stand after a crazy night there. |
| If you remember Lowen's, you must also remember J.A. Lazarus for kids' shoes! I think they were both where Modell's is now on Wisconsin in Bethesda. |
I wasn't born until 1977, whew! |

Did anyone have boyfriend's with race car's (or who thought they had race cars) who hung ut down at V Street to race?

Fritzbe's on Rockville Pike
Venture on Veirs Mill Rd. Z Cavarichi Georgetown Station What was the name of the hot club in Frederick everyone would drive up to? We thought it was so cool of us to drive up to Frederick from DC, like we were "the shit". |
| Does anyone remember the falling apart railroad tressle bridge in Kensington that teens would crawl out over to sit and drink on? I think there was a sensor that blasted a message to "GET OFF NOW" if you sat in just the right spot. |
| GD Grafiti on the Pike. The waiters were dressed up as gangsters and the menus were in viOlin cases. |
| Taking my homecoming date to Ponderosa on the Pike. Wonder why that was our only date? |
| Shakey's Pizza. |
