The rankings above look about right to me. The margin between the top 4 teams is razor-thin.

Prep having two consecutive blown-out losses is a bit concerning. There is no shame in losing to Malvern Prep who is the consensus #1 in the Country but the way in which the Hoyas are losing is alarming. The loss of Loyola Blakefield at home was pitiful. Turnovers, can't clear, and the offense is stagnant.

It was the way Prep lost and MP clearly ran its full bench mid-way thru the 3rd quarter and then had non-defenders playing defense and same with its offense. Not just a better team but better athletes and could have been far worse.

Also, Bullis will get absolutely worked this week by Spalding who probably should be the #1 team in the country, and AS will win the MIAA.

Given last week's and weekend's matches, I think the rankings based on games played are more likely:

1. Bullis
2. Landon
3.SJC
4. DeMatha
5. Gonzaga
6. PVI
7. GP
8. EHS/GC
9. SSSAS
10. St Alban's

Landon is pitiful. Living on last year.

Not even remotely a Landon parent or supporter (tangentially it’s a little too retro/White Lotus kinda school imo) but this can’t be a serious take. The Haverford game alone is pretty damned impressive, since they’re easily top 10 nationally. More going on here with the claimant than the claim.

Emphasis on the word scrimmage. STA will be lucky to finish 5th in the IAC.

SJC gets the nod at 2 based on the Gilman game comparison.
Same goes for swapping DM and PVI with GZ above them both based on history.
GP can climb once the local schedule starts.
The VA schools can hash it out at the end of the season in the VISAA champs.
The Heights has to be given a little love with the same comparable win against Bolles(FL) as GZ's.

Love for "The Heights."

Wednesday, March 19
Heights (4-0) vs. Rockville (0-0)

They are really playing a public that went 5-8 last year and lost to Sherwood 21-3?

The best area game of the week will be the Washington Post #1 Bullis (5-1) at #2 Archbishop Spalding (4-0). As PP stated Bullis took it last year and they have only lost the goalie so that should be a great game. Will be Bullis underperform or will Spalding show out like they did versus PVI? Bullis by 2

Watched them live. They are mediocre.

Landon will be fine come mid April, their offense still is not gelling.

Haverford while an elite program, doesn't appear to be as strong as they have been in previous years.

I’ll totally take those odds. For this early in the season, Spalding is a machine. The score will tell, though. Should be interesting to watch.

OMG yes!!! The Ratliff family in Season 3 is right out of Landon central casting. So perfect.

Game will be televised on FIOS channel 597 NLSE at 5:00 pm. Should be a great one.

Bullis doesn't play good enough defense.

Taft coach and sta coach are next level friends. Purely a friendly and a controlled practice.

I'm a little confused by it too but it might be because they are such a small school that they have no JV team so they need to find a way to get their bench in.

The Heights went 5-10 last year. It’s okay a local game was scheduled. It might even attract some enrollees.

Spaulding is the best team I have seen so far this year. Will be interesting to see how this goes but I expect them to win.
