I liked all the characters - but I thought the Mondler storyline was great. It added a lot of depth to both of them, and let them grow in ways that felt really true to the characters. I really liked that they were stable as a couple, too. |
But they were no longer funny, they were boring. |
I believe a lot of addicts have some sort of depression issue. Margot Kidder had manic depression and claimed when her manic got her high is when she started drinking because she wanted to get higher. |

Interesting what his ex said
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/matthew-perrys-ex-girlfriend-speculates-183119307.html Excerpt from article: “Edwards says his “Mattman” character would only surface when he had fallen off the wagon, referencing his Instagram posts that began popping up again. “I was around when he was getting high, although I was not getting high with him, and when I would say maybe he should cool it a little bit with the drugs, he would say, ‘No, I’m Mattman,'” she claimed. She also relayed a story about having to help him after a neighbor found him “naked and high in his swimming pool.” “I had to go over there and get him out of his neighbor’s pool. He had a thing with water when he was doing drugs,” Edwards said. “He always wanted to be in the pool or the Jacuzzi.” She worried about him for years and now regrets not having the chance “to say goodbye” after last seeing him in 2022. Edwards concluded, “He battled with something very deep.”” |
Agree to disagree |
+1 That’s when “Friends” jumped the shark. |
| David and Jen posted their tributes. |
| Jen A's tribute was lovely, my favorite so far: https://people.com/jennifer-aniston-shares-one-of-last-messages-she-received-from-matthew-perry-before-his-death-8384502 |

Lisa posted her tribute 2hours ago.
Talk about coordinated tributes! |
There is a wide gap between "perfect" and ...then matthew perry. No where did I say I was perfect but he was a very mentally ill person. Could he be funny? Yes. Could he read a script and make it unique..yes. but you need to separate your thoughts on the character and the actor who hurt a lot of people and was deeply flawed. |
Lisa's is so sweet, more personal than the others. |
I thought Jen’s was more personal. Talk every day to him, loss, etc. I think she’s the only one who didn’t talk much about Friends but how she felt. JMO. |
+2 |
They're both personal, touching tributes, but it seems like Lisa and Matthew may have been closer. She wrote the foreword for his book. He brought her along as his guest when he hosted Piers Morgan. etc. |
But you kept on watching. So there’s that. |
