Can’t stomach spending 50K on a minivan

OP, I am the poster who hates our Sienna minivan. Would you consider a used 2015 Sienna XLE minivan with leather seats, AWD and 30k miles?

To the OP - how do you like the Pacifica?

Any thoughts from the van-loving group here on the 2022 Sienna Woodland?

If you get the super fancy trim package. OP wants a fancy one. She could get a decently equipped Odyssey for upper 30’s.

OP here, I don’t think what we wanted was super fancy- just captains seats and the floor mats. But I was planning on getting the extended warranty.

You don’t need an extended warranty for a Toyota.

Buy aftermarket floor mats and see if your car insurance has a breakdown insurance clause (mine does, but you have to take it when you first get the car; can’t add it later).

Bought a Sienna when our kids were little. Drove it for 15 years with few repairs needed. Loaned it out to a family member who needed it. Sold it at CarMax for 2K with 180,000 miles on it. Do the math. If you can make yourself keep it longterm, it's not a bad deal. If you are the type to want to trade in ever few years, don't do it. Buy a used car and then always have a car payment.

Unless things are really tough for you financially, you're better of buying a new vehicle rather a vehicle two years old. The finance rate is better for new vehicles, plus you get a full factory warranty.

Good luck with whatever you go for.

Borrowing for a new car is a worse idea than paying cash for a two-year-old one.
