Best remedy for frizzy hair

It's not complicated, but it takes time and practice to figure out what works for your hair porosity and curl pattern. That's where the curly girl method comes in.

Other option if the above doesn't sound appealing is to get better at using a hair dryer and tension to smooth and seal the cuticle. A Brazilian blowout/keratin treatment will make this easier.

Do not use gel, I did that for years and I didn’t realize how much it worsened the frizz. Use a high quality anti-frizz serum.

No, gel doesn’t inherently worsen frizz. You may have used one or applied it in a way that didn’t work for you, but I use lots and lots of gel and have shiny frizz-free waves.

People who find that gel creates frizz need to check if the problem is humectants. Those are terrible for me in the summer.

When I stay home I'm okay with it, but my son said it looked messy, my boss thought it looked disheveled, and hubby basically said "what are you trying to do"? Clearly it is not curly enough to legitimately look like natural curls. That leaves me with blowing it out, and frizz. Will try one of the products recommended here - thanks.

Still don't know what a Brazilian blowout is...

I would bet that continuing to try to let your hair go wavy will look better than trying to make it straight, unless you get it done at the salon regularly. Frizz isn’t particularly professional-looking either.

It takes time. You could hey searching #wavyhairroutine on Instagram or something for tips.

Dcum taught me this, and my hair never looked better.

Don't get this dryer, it will fry the hell out of your hair.

PP if your hair is damaged due to this product, you're doing it wrong. You have to pre-dry your hair about 80-90%, then you use this styling tool.

If you have frizz and think your hair is straight, it's not. Try curly girl method.

I really like the Redken damage repair treatment.

If you blow dry daily, invest in a decent blow dryer. Doesn’t have to be a dyson but a step up from conair. Stuff they sell at Ulta, like babyliss or rusk. I had to do that around 40yo

Anonymous wrote:The anti-frizz styling products did little to curtail my frizz so I tried a Brazilian blowout this summer on the advice of a friend. Wow. I can let my hair air dry, I can touch it, I don't fear humidity or rain. Is this how other people have been living all along? I know it's not what you asked, but this has been such a revelation for me, I wanted to share.

Will curly hair stay curly still?

Yes. I got one a few months ago. Hair is still curly but less frizzy

+1

Put it on soaking wet (not towel dried) hair and comb through.

Np here. Thanks for the tip about putting it in wet. I used it on dry hair and it makes my hair look sticky and oily. Maybe this tip will help me!

The bottle says frizz ease.

I just used it in wet hair and let hair air dry. Amazing!! It worked so much better than when I put it on dry hair.

Confused. I thought curly hair was supposed to avoid silicones. All the recommendations to fight frizz are essentially silicon based serums.

Here is just a random article on it that I found. It’s something about humectants drawing in moisture from the air? Not all hair will have problems with glycerine and other humectants in humid weather but it makes a huge difference for mine.
