Neighbor poop can

I don't understand. Does this trash can not have a lid? They should get a lid.

When you open the lid to my "dog poop trash can" it does smell. But I keep the lid on and it gets put out to the curb every trash day. Also, my dog isn't generating like a whole trash can worth of poop. It's just bags of poop from walks and what I pick up in the backyard deposited in my ordinary city trashcan.

Is their dog much larger than the dog you used to have? My dog is large and large dog = large poops. It wouldn’t take more than a couple days in the heat for my dog’s poop to smell horrible whenever I opened the lid. Maybe you’re only smelling it when they’ve just opened the lid?
