Just watched Apollo 13 and The Truman Show with my 15 yo son. Really liked both.

My 15-yr old DS is really into soccer, but I’m not a sports fan at all and enjoyed Ted Lasso. It’s very funny. We also binged Drive to Survive (about F1 racing—I’m not a fan and got into it) on Netflix. Movies we enjoyed were Ford vs. Ferrari, Parasite, all the Star Wars movies, all the Indiana Jones movies and Dune. Many of the teen movies from the 80s haven’t aged well and were “boring” to DS, including Ferris Buellar.

My DD and I really enjoyed watching the TV show Numbers together when she was that age. It can be enjoyed by any gender. Basically, mysteries are solved by a mathematician who used to be a child prodigy.

Yes! I don’t understand or care about soccer at all, and I find the show incredibly charming.

Scorpion has a similar science-y bent, combined with the evolving relationships of the super-genius team. My 13-14yo DD and I watched the first few seasons over the span of a year between other things, and still enjoy picking up random episodes here and there.

+1 Brooklyn 99, Community, Ted Lasso, Good Place, The Office

In addition TV-wise: Superstore, Parks and Recreation, Simpsons, Sherlock (Sadly recently left Netflix, however), Schitt's Creek (Is rated TV-MA so maybe a stretch but most of it is just foul language - depends on your and his comfort level.)

Movies: The Social Network, Imitation Game, Bridge of Spies, The Martian, The Monuments Men, Murder on the Orient Express, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Office Space, Footloose (1984)
