OP here - I’m 42, which coincidentally I just read was the average age most females are feeling the worst side effects! 5 days later, I saw relative improvement today. I’m still sick enough where driving my kids to school was hard. Yesterday I couldn’t even do that. I’ve barely eaten a thing since Friday but was able to keep a little more down today. Prescription anti nausea and anti diarrhea are helping. Fever has come down to 99ish (I’m normally a low 97). I’m hoping tomorrow will be better.

There is likely no way I could walk in to get the second shot in two weeks after getting this sick. It has felt like the worst stomach flu of my life, with the regular flu.

Really? I'm 42, too. First dose moderna was rough, but I'm happy to hear on this thread that some people had better luck with the second. Mine's coming up. I feel like getting through the second shot will make the first one worthwhile. Don't want my immunity to wane too quickly.

You have 80% after one. And also can get antibody testing. Cases are going way down as well. Positive news!!

No, you are the only one. Call the CDC!

Dr put me on some meds to help relieve symptoms, and I got an IV. That helped. Still have low grade fever (from temp at home but dr temp registered normal). Covid test was neg but will test again tomorrow if still feeling sick. Thanks for the support!

It is likely that you came down with something that had the same day on said as your vaccine. This is definitely outside the normal range for reactions. Hope you feel better soon

Can't believe people are still posting. Are you 4 years old? Y6aa, vaccines sometimes hurt. Go cry to your mommy.

OP here. Pfizer too. Thanks for sharing. 5 days of feeling like this sounds like a nightmare, you’re brave to go back and get second ! Ok helpful, will try to rest and drink water. Yes disconcerting .... I woke up this morning feeling so much better, and then took a serious dive down to full on flu ish feeling

NP.

Me too!!! Pfizer too. Neither tylenol NOR advil helping at ALL!

My head feels crushed (no headache tho!), my chest feels crushed, my heart is pounding so quickly (no caffeine!). I don't get it. The first day it was just arm numbness but it's getting worse and worse!

I am NOT getting the second shot (I may change my mind BUT not before talking to my doctor).

Also, I've had ZERO bad reactions to vaccines in the past but my two kids BOTH ended up in the ER from DTaP and my doctor said that means it is hereditary allergy. Is there anything similar at all between pfizer and DTaP??? I don't think so but I'm trying to understand why I am so incredibly ill.

I'm 42 too. This is crazy. But Pfizer, not Moderna.

Yes, I think it's the sickest I've ever been. Aches, chills, my teeth were chattering uncontrollably. Did not have any gastro symptoms. Slept for hours and hours.

Are you better? Is this after first or second?

My 13 YO DD had a strong reaction to the first dose of Pfizer. Exhausted, foggy head, and achy. She’s never tested positive for Covid, but my DH had it and I wouldn’t rule out an asymptomatic, undetected infection at some point.

I'm fine. This was the second shot. Got sick about 24 hours after, was sick for about 24 hours, then fine. Glad to have the vax, sick or not.

Maybe but not for me. I'm the NP from 21:18 and I got an antibody test before the vax and it was negative. So I definitely didn't get it before.
