Anyone felt terrible 48hrs after first shot?

Everyone told me the first one would be no biggie, and I actually feel worse today than I have since I got it on Thursday. I’ve had my Tcell tested and no trace of Covid so can’t imagine I’ve had a prior infection.

Elevated temp, insomnia, body aches just started, headache, upset stomach.
Anyone with encouragement?

Did you get moderna? I know 2 people who were knocked on their a$$es for 4-5 days after the first shot. The second one went much better for both:~36 hours of fever, nausea and fatigue.

Hang in there OP! My friend had a similar experience as you. She felt terrible for at least 4 days after her first shot- fever, chills, muscle ache, migraine etc. For some reason her reaction to the second shot was so much better. She was sleepy the second day snd had a sore arm.

Thx for sharing. Helpful to hear. I’m on day 4 and actually now have a fever (my temp was only slightly elevated 1 degree before) and I can’t keep anything in. I’m going to Dr this morning. I’m hoping this turns around soon

I’m so sorry, OP. I think this can happen with any vaccine - one year my DD randomly reacted to the flu shot and symptoms lasted a miserable 48 hours. Hope you feel better soon!!

PP again and I just can’t read that you are 72+ hours with no relief. That sounds miserable, and I’m so sorry. My guess is that you had asymptomatic covid, but who knows. I hope today is the last of your symptoms!!

Please let us know what doctor said-- this isn't normal no matter what people say on this board. Nothing alarming but glad you're getting checked out... test for Covid again! Hang in there.

My spouse was way way worse after the first shot than the second with Pfizer. We kept waiting for the worst to hit, but a month later, I think we're clear.

So sick for 5 days with fever and bone pain and vomiting? Everyone I know with Covid minus 2 people were much less sick than the vaccine is making people. It is just a crapshoot where this spike protein lands in your body? I have multiple friends with ear problems too (hearing loss, tinnitus etc)

OP here. 4 days out and still feeling pretty sick. In bed not able to do much. This never happens to me.
Dr put me on some meds to help relieve symptoms, and I got an IV. That helped. Still have low grade fever (from temp at home but dr temp registered normal). Covid test was neg but will test again tomorrow if still feeling sick. Thanks for the support!

Feel better OP! Check in tomorrow. How old are you? Sometimes younger people are hit harder.

OP here - I’m 42, which coincidentally I just read was the average age most females are feeling the worst side effects! 5 days later, I saw relative improvement today. I’m still sick enough where driving my kids to school was hard. Yesterday I couldn’t even do that. I’ve barely eaten a thing since Friday but was able to keep a little more down today. Prescription anti nausea and anti diarrhea are helping. Fever has come down to 99ish (I’m normally a low 97). I’m hoping tomorrow will be better.

There is likely no way I could walk in to get the second shot in two weeks after getting this sick. It has felt like the worst stomach flu of my life, with the regular flu.

Totally agree, wait on second. Keep us updated. Glad you're a little better

I’m 45- felt EXHAUSTED for the 48 hours after first shot and I’m an energetic healthy person- Pfizer- Ani side effects from second shot. Have not had COVID but have three kids in school and go to yoga (masked) 6 or 7 times a week so it’s not impossible I had an asymptomatic or mild case and didn’t know if.

Hope you are on the mend
